Timberline Lodge

Staying here gave me a second run on life, allowed me to make peace with god and fixed my knees. This may be facetious, but the truth is I will work a second job to get me back here. Absolutely fantastic visit. 10/10 Don’t miss the soup option. Both the cauliflower soup and chili outstanding.

Thankfully, only booked 1 night. This is the loudest, most uncomfortable place we have ever stayed. We have stayed in hotels across the world- even hostels. I have never been so tired after staying in a hotel. We had a room with adjoining doors on both sides. We could hear every word (and more!) of both neighbors on both sides and the tromping of feet and creaking from above. Not sure all rooms are like this, but pretty sure many are. It was overrun with people. We ate in the bar. While the view is nice, the food was overpriced and pretty unpleasant- Cisco truck quality at best. Neither of us finished our meal. Go to the Timberline to walk through and read the history and then keep walking and stay somewhere else. Super disappointed.

The location was magical and beautiful but the hotel is very overpriced. The rooms are basic - no fridge, no coffee/tea making facilities etc. The bed was very comfortable and the view was extraordinary. Breakfast at the Cascade dining room was OK but again, very expensive and the service was average. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel but realistically I'd want to pay $100 less a night.

The setting is spectacular and the communal areas had lovely views of Mount Hood. The location is truly special. However… the hotel is seriously over priced. Our room rate was $350 per night plus taxes and the rooms were tiny with even smaller bathrooms with very poor showers. The beds are comfortable and view from the room were gorgeous. However there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, little space for luggage and no temperature control. Walls are paper thin and you can hear every word of your neighbour’s conversation. The rooms were stuffy and hot at night even when very cold outside. Breakfast was over $70 for two (including tip) and the quality of food was average at best and the service was awful. One waitress swore under her breath about a table of guest while passing our table, drinks were very slow to be served (arrived after our food). Food and drink was very expensive (one round of two drinks was $35+) and in general, service at the lodge was the worst we experienced in two weeks in the US. St Bernard dogs are super cute but charging $100 to got for a walk with them felt like another rip off. The place is clearly coasting on the location which is breathtaking. However, it is about twice the price it should be.

Been to beautiful Timberline many times for day trips .. was excited to spend night for first time. Rooms are pricey and small.... No room service.... Restaurant was pricey.... Food was so-so. Our car was buried in snow next morning..... So we couldn't leave... They supplied us with shovels to dig our way out....(we fell in parking lot a couple times.) couldn't get a cup of coffee as they tore their coffee service down. I guess there was a reason we never spent the night!

Timberline Lodge is an absolutely beautiful and historic place. We visited quite a few years ago but did not spend the night. We would like to make this an annual event. We are not skiers, but the mountain offers many recreational opportunities. The lodge is a treasure.

This hotel has charm & character galore. The room was incredibly spacious, though the bathroom is tiny, with few surfaces to put anything down. Walls are thin, so it can be a bit noisy. They recognize that this can be an issue and give you complimentary earplugs! They do ask for quiet hours starting at 10, and sleeping was not really an issue. The public spaces are interesting, cozy and warm, and the dinner in the Cascade Dining Room was one of the best I've ever had! It snowed unexpectedly overnight and we were in a rental car without a snow brush. I was surprised that the hotel did not have any snow removal tools for guests to borrow, nor did they offer to help with luggage as the parking lot was a slushy mess. It was unfortunate that because of the weather we couldn't see much of the surrounding area, but it's really a place to be experienced at least once.

Timberline Lodge & Ski resort were top notch and our favorite resort we visited during our trip to Mt. Hood. We were in a group of 10 with snow ski & boarders of all levels, and we were able to ride together the whole day due to the wide runs & varied terrains. We will definitely be back!

I love the experience to come with the family. I am especially looking forward to when they have the pool and hot tub open and improved. My biggest pet peeve is that the water in the shower doesn’t get hot. Warm at best. Food is decent but pricey. Used to have a lot more life before Covid.
