We just returned from Oslo, and stayed here from 22nd June - 25th June. The hotel is located 20 minutes outside of Oslo city centre by train - it was simple to use the train system and then a 10-15 min walk from the Sandvika train station to the hotel or there are 2 buses that you can jump on if you aren't fit enough to walk (as there are a few hills). We did a mix of walking and jumping on the bus if it was there. We also got the train direct to the airport from him which took around 40 mins. Worth noting we had to use the express train to the airport which I think is more expensive as the local trains don't start running until later, so worth checking train times if you have a particularly early or late train start. The room itself was basic but good in size. The breakfast was really good quality & plentiful. The receptionist also put us together a breakfast box as we had to leave early on Sunday to catch a 8 am flight back to the UK. The shower wasn't so good, as the temperature would switch from freezing cold to burning hot. Beds were comfortable enough and spacious. We stayed here as it was half the price of a hotel in the city centre, but with trains not being the cheapest - it will be worth adding up paying for them going back and forth before booking again. It didn't take long at all from the city centre, so I wouldn't be put off by distance as easy to navigate the public transport.

이 호텔에 묵은 것은 이번이 처음이 아니며 항상 매우 기쁩니다. 피요르드의 훌륭한 위치와 전망. 레스토랑에서의 훌륭한 아침 식사. 편안한 생활 조건. 매우 깨끗합니다. 오슬로에서는 가격이 상당히 저렴합니다. 나는 추천한다!

호텔 위치가 좋고 뒤에 만이 있고 바다가 맑고 경치가 쾌적합니다 가장 큰 장점은 주차가 무료라는 것입니다 시내 중심가로 이동이 매우 편리합니다 직행버스가 있습니다 도심까지 30분 이내. 조식이 풍성함. 유일한 아쉬운 점은 침대가 푹신함. 익숙하지 않음. 사진은 호텔 뒤 바다

We ate a 3-course dinner at this hotel that lies beautiful in Asker. The staff was just wonderful and was very serviceminded and informed us everything regarding the food. For starter We ate a cauliflower soup and pieces of bacon, it was creamy and for me that isnt to fancy about cauliflower, completly loved it! For dinner we ate cod, it was baked perfectly and just fell appart when dividing it with my fork. Lovely plated and the combinations with the sallad and the sauce tasted amazing with my taste buds. For dessert we received a crème brûlée a dessert of custard usually topped with caramelized sugar but this one was creamy with strawberry and hazelnut. Just unbelivable! The view from the hotel was an extra bonus as well. Incredible beautiful! We where more than satisfied after our visit!

Thon Hotel Vettre Single female traveler on a weekend excursion to scuba dive in a Fjord and see Oslo. The Thon Hotel was reasonably priced and an easy bus ride from Oslo center. I chose it as I was taking a scuba diving class in Vollen. The bus stop is 200 meters from Reception. Nura the receptionist was more of a concierge. The check in was easy and Nura assisted with logistics to get to Vollen and day trips to Oslo. Nura is a star! The room was nicer than expected with a balcony to greenery. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom contained shower gel and soap and had heated floors. There is a fridge with mini bar. My hairdryer was on the fritz and Nura secured me a loan dryer from the hotel. The lock turns from the inside and can not be opened without turning that lock from the inside. Secure. The front desk has beverages for sale including alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages as well as chips. There is a Kiwi grocery store nearby. It is not open on Sunday. The restaurant was quite good for dinner with a nice selection of wines by the glass or bottle that you can take back to the room. Breakfast was included. There are juices, coffee and milk and non-dairy options. They had 4 choices of eggs, bacon, sausages, Turkey meatballs, roasted potatoes, and beans. There were different types of breads to slice as well as croissants. Many different types of quality cheeses were available along with fresh fruits and vegetables. There were yogurt and cereal choices as well. The pool was a decent size and offered towels, showers and a changing room. Vettre is beautiful. I would stay here again and I would choose the Thon chain again based on this experience.

At 03:20 on 30th Nov the fire alarm went off due to fire on floor 3. I want to congratulate the young staff members that took control of the situation and remained calm at all times. Two young ladies at the front desk and a young man that at was also a Chef. I hope all at the Scandic Asker are very proud of these staff members, as they show supreme qualities for young people. Congratulations to them.

3 minutes walk from Skøyen train station, only 2 stops away from Central station. Quiet surrounding with supermarket, restaurants and cafes around the hotel. Breakfast is definitely the biggest highlight with plenty of options including hot food, delicious cinnamon buns, crispy waffles etc. Room is spacious with very comfortable beddings, fast wifi and strong shower. The biggest weakness to me would be the heating system which is way too weak to warm up the room in zero degree celsius. Other than the heating, this is a great place to stay with excellent breakfast. This would be a 5-stars rating if heater were stronger.
