Me and my partner have just returned from a long weekend stay and we were beyond excited for our trip. We had booked a private pool room as it was our anniversary and we thought that it would be a nice touch for us. When we checked in, we were given our room number and shown to our room. Once me and my partner stepped outside onto the terrace, we noticed that we had been given a sharing pool room and not the private pool room that we had booked. I went down by myself to speak to the man on reception to explain that we were not in the room we had booked and being an ex travel agent and someone who is currently working for a huge holiday company, I knew that this was not correct. The man on reception said to me that there was nothing he could do about it and insisted that the room we had been given, the sharing pool room, was more expensive and therefore better. When I returned to the room, I searched up both rooms on the website to find out that both rooms were in fact the same price and I was a little frustrated with the way the man had spoken to me. Me and my partner then went back to reception and when I was asking the man questions, he was answering them but looking at my boyfriend and not me, the person who was speaking, which both of us found extremely rude. The man could not say why we weren’t given the correct room and why we could not have this room that we had booked. He did however tell us to return to reception the following morning to discuss it then, which we did. The lady we spoke to the following morning was wonderful, she explained to us that it was an error on their end and that someone had been given our room by accident. She apologised profusely and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. We appreciated her honesty and although we weren’t happy with the room change and how we weren’t told prior to finding out ourselves, she did definitely make the situation better with her honesty. One thing I will mention about the sharing pool room is that the pool is not heated like the main pool during October. Having paid more money for this room than a standard room, you would hope that the pool would be treated the same as the main pool. The pool felt like it was as cold as ice and this meant that we rarely used the pool which was once again frustrating. On our final day, our flight home wasn’t until 11pm so we had booked a standard room as we had to check out of our original room at 12 and we wanted somewhere to put all of our belongings and somewhere to shower before the flight. The only thing we noticed about this room was that when we were showering, if you turned the water warmer, the pressure would get worse to the point that if you put the water fully onto hot, the water would quite literally just trickle out. Im not sure if this was an issue with just this room or all of the standard rooms and although it didn’t bother us too much as we were only there for one day, it may have if we were there for longer. I am very happy with the time I had in Filermos Village. I am an active person so regular activities organised by the enterntainment were a big advantage for me. Apart from that, the service in Filermos Village is very pleasant, Whenever any problem appeared, the staff were always going to help me out with it. Special thanks to Mrs. Kinga! What is more, the food was tasty, it met my expectations, I can’t find much to complaint about. Strongly recommend this Hotel :) I am very happy with the time I had in Filermos Village. We enjoyed our little getaway to the Electra Palace however there are some downsides to this hotel but also some great sides to this hotel. I would give this hotel a 4* more than a 5* that it’s currently rated at. Let’s start with the bad that NEEDS work on 1. Housekeeping Housekeeping and cleanliness of the hotel is not consistent and needs work on to make this a 5* hotel - our room was not cleaned one day and we were told we had our do not disturb on, which we didn’t. I think due to the busyness it was missed - one day we would get water and no towels and another we would get water but barely a clean. - Our room wasn’t cleaned to a 5* standard as the floor was never sweeped or mopped and the sides were dusty and not cleaned properly on each visit. We had a stain on our shower wall everyday so felt like it was never cleaned. - The hand soaps and other in bathroom amenities were not replenished and this is a key part of the bathroom! - the gym is filthy with sweat marks all around the machines. There is a small Effort to help people wipe down machines but leaving hand towels only isn’t keeping it hygienic. The gym needs a cleaning spray, antibacterial hand gel as well as gym towels to help people keep this tidy. We watched the cleaning lady run a dirty mop around the floor only and leave. - the cushions, pillows on the pool cabanas and seating areas are disgusting! We refused to use these as they look like they hadn’t been cleaned in the whole summer from peoples sweat and pool water. This really lets down the hotel as these areas could be much better. 2. Staff - reception staff during the day were lovely and helpful however the evening staff were abrupt and rude. One day I wanted to use the pool to have an early morning swim and was basically told ‘you cannot swim until 9.30am’ which is not ideal as it’s busy and I wanted to have a peaceful swim. This was not met with any apologies or further help just pure blunt rudeness - The beach bar lady is rude and closed the bar down early everyday. It states on the app and website it closes at 6pm and she refused to serve us at 5pm and kept stating it closed at 5. When I told her the information shown online and app she ignored me. Her general attitude is not 5* service - the grounds staff again are abrupt and rude and daily make you feel like you are in there way - hardly any staff greet you or provide and welcome and kindness and made us feel like we are constantly an inconvenience 3. F&B - the Italian food in the evening is pretty rubbish with bland options and no flavour at all. We didn’t eat here again The GOOD points to this hotel 1. The Spa services were fabulous and we enjoyed a massage on one of the days, which was the best massage I’ve had and I’ve had a lot on holidays. The staff were so lovely and the best staff service in the hotel. 2. The Greek restaurant was the best food in the hotel, shame we didn’t have this included the whole time. 3.
