We booked this hotel for one night as a special treat to celebrate my birthday. The taxi dropped us at the back of the hotel and it wasn’t immediately clear where Reception was situated, however a friendly cleaner was soon able to direct us. The lifts do not access every floor so we also had to climb 19 stairs to book in at Reception. Easy for some, but with multi-joint osteoarthritis and a recent knee replacement this wasn’t great news for me. The lady at Reception was a little brusque and dropped the key into my husband’s palm without indicating how to find our room. She seemed surprised to be asked for directions but then carried our case back down the 19 stairs and directed us to the lift with instructions on how to find our room. First impression of our room was good. The extra euros for a panoramic views across the coast was worth it. The room was smaller than expected and rather dated but it was clean. The bathroom was lovely with the added bonus of a walk-shower. We went booked into a nearby restaurant for dinner and had the most amazing evening. Feeling tired, relaxed and happy we headed back to the hotel unaware that we were about to have one of the worst nights sleep, in a hotel, that we had ever had. Twin beds were pushed together and as I lowered myself to sit on the bed I heard springs “twanging” and immediately felt a lumpy and uneven mattress which felt hard in some places and soft in others. I hoped it would feel a little more comfortable once lying down, but unfortunately not. Every movement I made, and I do toss and turn due to pain each night, was accompanied by noisy springs which felt like they were poking me in the back with the additional discomfort of what felt like a hard wooden slat just below the surface of the mattress. There was absolutely no possibility of any sleep on that bed and as the hours passed I knew that my birthday plans of spending the day exploring the pueblo had now been thwarted. I could only lie there and imagine the joy I would feel the following morning when I would be able to taxi back to our apartment in Benalmadena and climb into my, relatively speaking, luxurious bed. At 4am, my husband kindly offered to swap beds as he felt that his bed might be marginally more comfortable than mine. He was right, it was. Well, it was slightly less noisy at least. I remained wide awake until it was time to rise, furiously composing, in my mind, the wording of my complaint to Reception prior to checking out. Breakfast was self-service and included in the price but wasn’t particularly appetising. Husband managed a small cooked breakfast consisting of rather anaemic looking boiled bacon, sausage and beans. I had coffee and a pastry. I still felt to annoyed and tired to enjoy breakfast. At check-out the Receptionist was lovely, which made it far more difficult to complain but I needed to express my unhappiness. I told her that the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I had ever slept in and that it should be removed

We arrived at the hotel Alay on September 16th. A friendly staff member Monica, checked us in . As we are seniors she was extremely helpful. Gave us a choice of room, installed the hotel wifi on our phones. A very positive start. The hotel is lovely and bright. We had a beautiful view from our balcony. The bedroom was a good size. It could do with an upgrade. There are no drawers to put clothes into. Some shelves in the wardrobe, but certainly needed more space. Bathroom was small and a bit of a challenge getting into and out of the bath. The dining room was pleasant and room for everyone. Staff were most helpful. We enjoyed the great breakfast buffet. Everyone's taste was catered for. Pools and sun beds were very pleasant and quiet. We had a thoroughly wonderful holiday, and hope we can return again. Mary Buckley

We have just returned from a 6 night visit to this hotel as a family of 4- 2 teenagers. The apartment was a good size, twin beds in the bedroom and comfortable double sofa bed in the lounge. Good facilities including washing machine and dishwasher which was very useful. Pool bar does decent food and drinks and was reasonably priced. 5 minute walk to the beach and promenade with lots of bars and restaurants near by. 30 minute walk to the marina or around 6 euros in a taxi. Bus stop at the end of the road towards either Malaga or Fuengirola. Highly recommended. We will definitely return.

From the first moment that we walked into the hotel we were met by very friendly and polite staff. We were given first class reception. During our stay we could not fault anything about the hotel and especially 'ALL' of the staff, who were impeccable and they should be commended for this. The attention to detail was flawless and we will certainly be returning and recommending to all of our friends.

11월에 친구와 함께 이 아파트를 처음 방문했고 우리는 멋진 숙박을 했다고 말해야 합니다. 취사 가능한 휴가에 필요한 모든 것의 중심에 위치하며 해변과 정박지까지 도보로 10분, 슈퍼마켓과 상점까지 도보로 5분 이내, 도로 바닥에 버스 정류장이 있습니다. 우리는 방 408에 머물렀고 거리/주요 도로/바다의 멋진 전망을 가지고 있었습니다. 아파트는 나와 친구에게 이상적인 별도의 거실/요리 공간이 있는 침실 1개였습니다. 이 아파트에는 발코니가 없지만 대부분의 시간에 외출했기 때문에 문제가 되지 않았습니다. 수영장 지역은 깨끗하고 선베드를 얻는 데 문제가 없었습니다. 모든 직원은 매우 열심히 일하고 항상 미소로 봉사합니다. 우리가 필요한 모든 것을 갖추고 있는지 확인한 Raphael에게 큰 소리로 외칩니다. 음료와 음식은 좋은 수준이었고 아파트 아래의 노래방 바는 단연 마을에서 최고입니다. 3일차에 수건이 갈아탔습니다. 이것은 Benalmadena / Torremolinos / Malaga의 주변 지역을 탐험하고자하는 사람에게 이상적인 기반입니다. 돈의 가치가 환상적이었으므로 우리는 확실히 돌아올 것입니다! 잘했어 도라마 👏

We have just spent Saturday night at Comfy Studios (room 6) and sadly it was the worst nights sleep we’ve ever had. We booked directly via the website and it doesn’t reflect the hotel exterior or location - it’s on a very busy main road, opposite an Irish bar. I mistakenly thought this might be the quieter part of town and should have done more of a thorough check as we were after a good nights sleep before a flight home the next morning. Unfortunately what we discovered when we arrived was a loud, brits abroad, party destination. I don’t doubt the rooms are well designed and once off the street, you are greeted with a calm entrance and friendly staff. But the noise in our room from the main road and pedestrian thoroughfare was SO loud ALL night, it was as if the full width patio doors were open. The noise of motorbikes, boy racer cars and people walking past went well into the early hours, in the end, after neither of us getting any sleep, we got up at 5:45am and checked out. I would definitely advise against a room on the main road and completely avoid during Friday/Saturday nights if you plan to get any sleep as according to the hotel this level of noise is to be expected. I would have expected a much better sound proofing of the glazing if they know it gets noisy. I can only assume that the good reviews are from those who didn’t have a room on the main road and who stayed during the week and avoided the carnage of the weekend. Or they were out until the early hours themselves and therefore noise wasn’t an issue. Personally I won’t return to Benalmádena or Comfy Studios, too chavvy and noisy and nothing authentically Spanish here.

There is no Wi-fi in this hotel for customers! We were 4 nights over there and were never able to use it, cause it’ s not working at all in a Room, at balcony or outside in the garden or pool areas. Don’t trust that it’ s there for you to use at your Stay. Overall the hotel is nice. There is sauna and hot tub in the garden and also a swimming pool to enjoy. Outside kitchen area provides a barbecue setting to use if you want and also needed tablewear and place to wash your dishes. Nicely set up. This hotel is small. Only few Rooms (10?) and in two floors. Most of them in the first floor. Balcony’s are separated with plants so you’d feel a little more like it’ s your own space. You can get a welcoming set of coffee pods, a few cold drinks and couple of tea bags, but if you are staying a bit longer than one night, a visit to a supermarket is maybe a good idea. The fridge is small size. You can hear the traffic and Bar noise from near by streets when sitting in outside areas, but Rooms are quite silenced. We did sleep well. If you don’t need to be in contact by Wi- Fi, You will relax nicely. There is a lot of steps to move around and no lifts. That is good to know if steps are impossible for you. For Us it didn’t make any difference. Good location. Easy to park nearby (it is free) or come by buses. In a walking distance there is restaurants, shops and nice place just to walk around in the hills of Pueblo.
