It started out very promising Nice helpful receptionist, a lift, which is always a plus It was started by a German returning from Italy and very impressed with it There is a restaurant attached Palio. We booked for dinner at 7pm, as the World Cup was starting on tv at 8pm My only course, some pasta and rabbit didn’t arrive til 8.30, I left most of it The restaurant was very cold, likewise reception AND our room It was beautifully decorated but the plus side ends there Also the room was €180, it didn’t include breakfast Breakfast was another €30 EACH We didn’t have it. We were travelling by car and stopped at the first Aldi and bought fresh rolls and cheese Incidentally Aldi in Germany are much cheaper than the UK

We were two couples staying for a couple of days. 25 minute walk to the old town of Celle. Free ride with bus for hotel guests (did not try the bus) We felt welcome at start - but slowly this feeling disappeared in reception/ restaurant. We were not loud or misbehaving so we were all wondering; How can you run a hotel and make the guests feel not welcome… Hotel is nice and clean. Breakfast is OK but nothing special. We only had breakfast; I noticed that most guests arriving for breakfast were welcomed with stoneface and a demand of the room number - which would be okay AFTER you have said “ goodmorning” (maybe even with a tiny smile)….

Das Hotel ist unser ”Hub”, wenn alle Kolleginnen und Kollegen aus Deutschland zusammentreffen. Alle Reisenden sind ausnahmslos mit dem Hotel zufrieden, Zustand tadellos, Parken am Haus gratis, Frühstück super und immer wieder total (gast)freundliches Personal. Tagungen kann man im im Caroline-Mathilde auch! Die Lösung der kulinarischen Frage hat man super gelöst - Angebot, Umfang und Qualität der beiden Mahlzeiten war für 30 Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer waren einfach grandios. Wir bleiben diesem Haus treu, es gibt in Celle kein besseres Haus - auch und insbesondere wenn das aus dem Norden der Stadt gerne behauptet wird.

Das Privathotel befindet sich ca. drei Kilometer außerhalb von Celle. Obwohl an einer stark befahrenen Hauptstraße/Kreuzung gelegen, ist es, wenn man ein Zimmer zum Innenhof bucht, sehr ruhig. Kostenfreie Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden. Das Einchecken verlief freundlich und professionell. Alle Mitarbeiter sind augenscheinlich sehr gut ausgebildet und verrichten ihren Dienst zurückhaltend, freundlich und zuvorkommend. Einige von ihnen sind bereits seit Jahrzehnten hier tätigt, was für ein gutes Management und Personalführung spricht. Das Hotel beschäftigt sehr viele Mitarbeiter, es finden viele Familienfeiern und andere Veranstaltungen statt. Unser gemütliches Deluxe-Zimmer war über 50 m² groß. Die Einrichtung ist relativ neuwertig und funktional. Das Bad war sehr groß, nur das Bett war sehr tief gelegen und die Matratze nicht sehr komfortabel. Bei Bedarf können spezielle Kissen geordert werden. Das Frühstücksbuffet hatte eine sehr gute Auswahl. Eierspeisen werden frisch zubereitet. Benutztes Geschirr wird von den aufmerksamen Mitarbeitern nach Gebrauch sofort abgeräumt. An sonnigen Tagen kann auf der Terrasse gefrühstückt werden. Gleiches gilt für das Abendessen. Die kleine Abendkarte bietet Spezialitäten aus der Region. Fazit: Wir können dieses komfortable Hotel wegen seiner Nähe zu Celle, dem vorbildlichen Service und dem guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Location: Great, just cross one street and you enter the really nice old town of Celle. You are on the eastern end so some walk to the other side but very close by. Parking facilities (in case of the hotel ones being filled) just across the courtyard. Rooms: Small, dark and if you have the bad luck to have on to the Main Street it is either loud or it gets really hot. No much fun at all in staying in one, just be good for sleeping and showering (small as well) and that's it. But sleeping is not only marred by the hot or loud dichotomy but also by the fact that this was the second most worn out mattress I have ever slept in. Terrible. Food. Did not have any but the breakfast buffet looked nice. Staff:Friendly and most efficient Communal areas: Nice and clean but nothing to write home about. Sorry guys being cheap on the beds - which is the most important item in an hotel -does not pay out.
