Stayed here for 2 days and have never wanted to leave a place so quickly. We arrived after a long 7 hour journey up the mountains, the drive is beautiful even though the roads can be rocky in some places. Check in seemed smooth until it took 40 mins for them to organise a buggy to take us to our room. When we finally got one after someone else stole the one that was meant to take us, we were driven up with the hotel laundry. The actual room was OK, for a hotel that claims to be 5* - it is anything but - I would say more 3*. There was about 10 power cuts, in which everytime it would turn back on the TV would turn back on so in the middle of the night we had to wake up and move furniture to unplug it. The bathroom was disgusting. Mouldy, had a smell of mould, if you open the cupboard under the sink it well it not pleasant. The tiles are falling of the walls, the hand wash holder was old and grimey - the sink had black marks all around the edges. Again, for somewhere that claims to be 5* - the bathroom is more like 2*. The hot water is limited - whilst we are staying in the mountains, if it is limited they should be informing us and communicating properly about the facilities. Now the service, everytime you ask the staff about something its all great and everything is possible however when it comes to actioning it, none of them knew what was going on. I feel like the main problem here doesn't sit with the staff but the training that is implemented and the processes. As mentioned above when waiting for the buggy, there were about 5 people just standing around doing nothing or looking like they don't know what to do. The buggy service really also makes no sense. You call reception for a buggy - they say up to 10 mins which is fair but often that's not the case and you can be waiting 20/25 mins. There should be buggy points from each corner which comes every 5-10 mins, for a big resort it seems there is one buggy and one shuttle. We had also asked the staff to post something, they assured us it would be done and we can collect our receipt the next evening. We checked in the morning before we left and all seemed OK. We checked in the evening and they said sorry it can't be done - again that is fine but this should have been communicated with us properly as we stressed to them it needed to be done and before we checked out. We were only there two nights. Dinner was nice both days, breakfast was OK. The only pro is the stunning views and being able to see a beautiful sunrise just from by room. As we were checking out: We asked to speak to the ***ager who then completely avoided and ignored us. We did some laundry with them, they had a special offer on yet tried to charge us a whole different price to which we then had to break it down to them. Just a complete mess.

An awesome resort with wonderful views in the midst of a tea garden. ***y tourist spots to visit. Very spacious rooms, well furnished. Excellent house keeping. Very good restaurant with buffet and lots of varieties. ***y activities in the activity centre including adventure games. Night safari to Gudamparai peak with mashal walk in the jungle and Forest trail Trek arranged by Thomas of the activity centre and accompanied by Alwyn memorable.

Living quarters are large & comfortable. Sheets are clean. Bathroom cleanliness can improve. Hot water in one bath got exhausted - Mahindra resorts to address this issue. Thanks to Solok who has responded to calls quickly. Good food spread in the buffet. Very nice staff … a bit understaffed though.

Stay was comfortable. Service was very good. The food was very good and served with care . The Chef, particularly to mention Mr Kuldeep Singh was very caring and looked after the guests with love and personal attention. He almost attended us for all breakfasts and dinners.

Initially booked at Mt Serene, we immediately opted to shift to the other property located at a lower elevation. Fortunately we could get the change. A property experience is often defined by the people there. Most noteworthy is the ***ager, Mr Shinow Baby, who displayed a most positive attitude, not only with us but with all others as observed. His humbleness was visible when one noticed the way he would step in to overcome challenges arising unexpectedly. The kitchen chef Subhankar is another who displayed positivity all around and intermingled to deliver and keep the guests in good spirits in the dining area. The Head chef and the bakery chef are also people deserving praise and mention. All other staff tried and succeeded in making guests welcome and happy. Traces of the effects of Unions were mild, but an experienced discerning eye can see them. How the ***agement is coping with it, goes to their credit. An all round pleasant stay at Club Mahindra, Munnar.

Club Mahindra Munnar is a nice resort located around 20 km away from Munnar town. The location offers lovely views of the mountains as well as tea gardens. The rooms were good. Tea/coffee maker was available. The car park is small and can accommodate a limited number of vehicles. The staff are courteous and friendly. Food in the restaurant is good but prices are exorbitant. There are small restaurants near the Sterling Resort, a short walk away, as well as a food truck below the resort where you can get fairly good food at reasonable rates
