Excellent location in River North : there are many cafes, bars, restaurants - the apartment is approx. 5-7 minutes walk from Michigan Avenue, around 15 mins walk from the Chicago river and Lake Michigan. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable, beds and pillows are great - spacious kitchen/utility room and dining room, high ceilings and modern uncluttered decor. The glazing in the bedrooms is well insulated. Good and prompt communication with the Sonder staff via the app.

Excellent Location!! Very safe neighborhood that has everything that you could want. I stayed for 10 days and it was really nice to have our own kitchen vs eating hotel breakfast every morning. We are definitely planning on staying here on our next extended business trip.

Great place to stay and convenient to everything in Chicago. Compact, clean, comfortable with everything you need. Easy check-in and check-out. Stayed for five nights. Only complaint was that the coffee maker provided (Cuisinart) leaked terribly when pouring: every time! Jewel-Osco around the corner and CTA red and bus lines. Recommend and would stay again.

Had my bachelorette / birthday weekend here, and it was absolutely perfect for me and my girls! The location is unbeatable—everything we wanted to do was within walking distance, which made the whole weekend super easy and stress-free. The space was just right for all 4 of us to chill and get ready together. The only hiccup was the limited luggage storage in the lobby. We ended up checking our bags at Hotel Felix down the street, which wasn’t a big deal, but more options would’ve been nice. Overall, though, it was an amazing stay and I’d definitely recommend it!

Great location. Outdoor patio was amazing and 2 floors was perfect for our family. Beds were super comfy! We loved it. Only complaints walls dinged up and needed painted and upstairs toilet was not stable but worked fine. Tons of living space and equipped with everything you need

I am a frequent guest at Sonder properties, but the experience at The Opal in Chicago has convinced me to look elsewhere when traveling for business or pleasure. On this particular visit, the toilet literally shattered while my colleague was using it. Fortunately there was no injury. The supposed "customer service team" did nothing to remedy the situation despite other units in the building showing as available on their website. We were forced to move to a nearby hotel due to the Sonder's lack of response to the situation. And Sonder has not replied nor offered financial remedy for our additional hotel expense caused by their negligence despite numerous attempts to contact them since the visit.
