Inn at Court Square

What a cute inn. I received a friendly greeting, was shown around the property, and then was given a glass of wine and chocolate on the porch. Downtown is walking distance...many restaurants and stores. The room was perfect for just me. It might have been a little small for two. My bathroom was down the hall. It was a spectacular deal so I didn't mind. The breakfast was so amazing. A 3-course meal prepared and served impeccably. One thing to note: there were 4 keys (2 buildings, room, and for me, a bathroom). They were on a huge keychain. I don't use a purse so I felt like a janitor walking around town with the keychain. ha! Perhaps it was detachable. I didn't notice. I'll probably stay here with my husband next time.

Every person who worked here was a delight and beyond hospitable. Historic brick home with character and quirk. Walking distance from the Ting concert pavilion. Wake up for the free breakfast. Had the best quiche. Rich and moist with a flaky crust. I tried the bacon and tomato, but the flavors may rotate. There were also courses! And 3 entree options. I’ve never been that spoiled for an included breakfast. Light sleepers may want earplugs. The floors are antique and a bit squeaky. I’d made a mistake in my reservation process and they really helped me out beyond what would have been expected. Overall this place was splendid, and I’d love to return. They really achieved the balance between formal and familial that is near impossible to thread. (Book through the location directly. Much better deals.)

We left a day early as had a very poor sleep caused by noisy air conditioning window units…if we turned them off, the room was uncomfortably hot… turned them on and it was like sleeping on an airport runway. Breakfast was nice and bed was comfortable. But, essentially, we couldn’t sleep hence the low score.

Some positives, but if this stay hadn’t been discounted for the winter special, not worth the price. Attention to detail could use improving. Positives - Staff was friendly and accommodating. Great location. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was functional and spacious. Bathrobes were nice touch. All the major items certainly fine. Cons - No pleasant outdoor seating area. Entrances looked worn and tired. Office space where I was greeted looked disorganized and a mess. The worn and cluttered look of the room, antiques in every inch, was not to my liking. No individual room heat control. Parking in back lot not ideal. No electrical outlet visible and easily accessible in sitting room. When unplugging lamp from baseboard outlet, the whole outlet fell out of the baseboard. Kerig machine in hallway but all decaf coffee. Was told that previous night both the front and back doors were left open by a guest, safety concern. Complementary wine in my opinion was not newly corked. Breakfast was good, but selling it as a 3 course meal is over generous. Yes, there were three items, but the mini muffin and very small bowl of blueberries hardly seem like a worthy addition. But yes, the quiche was fabulous. Atmosphere and worn cozy can work for many, but just not for me.

It’s full of interesting things to look at. Great attention to detail. Fabulous breakfast. Our experience was soured before we got there by the booking company. We thought it was $375. Payment made. Then it was $575. No refund allowed. That’s an additional 50%. Also, there was a loud group of people outside our window on the back porch from 9 PM till 11:30 PM. We called the innkeeper who corrected the problem. Evidence on the porch indicated it was a regular event.

If you are looking for the perfect place to stay, I highly recommend the Inn at Court Square! You’ll not be disappointed. On our recent visit we stayed in The Cannie Collins Suite. As with all of the rooms it was beautifully done from the fabulous linens to the decor. The hosts and staff are a cut above. We can’t say enough about the Inn, You really must try it and you’ll give it 10 stars!

This is the greatest place. Awesome staff, unbelievable food. Top notch!!! The rooms are quirky and comfy. The breakfast is absolutely unreal. Quiche with the pie crust is terrific! But, not just that. It was all terrific. Come hungry because it is an abundance of food. Staff is absolutely the nicest people. Great stay. Highly recommend.

The Inn at Court Square is in the heart of Charlottesville. The Inn and surrounding buildings set the tone for a genuine and authentic experience. The neighborhood was quiet, clean and there were many historic buildings nearby. The décor in the lobby, dining areas and rooms is imaginative, creative and creates an atmosphere which reflects the period and style of the neighborhood. The location is stellar. We enjoyed strolling to the downtown area and the pedestrian mall. There are numerous and varied dining options within close proximity to the Inn. The included breakfast is a delight with a fine service and delicous food. Our room in the adjacent building was cozy and warm and had lots of character and interesting furnishings. The off-street parking is a big plus. Candace and Michael and the rest of the staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. We enjoyed our stay and will come back the next time we are in Charlottesville.

Awesome staff and accommodatios; don't hesistate to book it; some cleanliness issues in the room but minor comparatively; great charm and central location; quaint and cozy; stayed there multuple times and worth the money
