컴포트 인 다운타운 찰스턴(Comfort Inn Downtown Charleston)

Even though the booking was done and paid through Trip.com the hotel asked on arrival that we pay resort fees so I provided my credit card and later realized that the hotel charged me for the entire stay not just resort fees like they said, and they actually charged me twice! When checking out I told the hotel staff about their mistake and they said they’ll refund me however when I checked my credit card I noticed the refund but also several additional charges so they basically refunded me and charged me again!! I tried calling the hotel but nobody answers so my advice is to stay away from this hotel! Additionally they had bed bugs!! So not only you’re paying 3-4 times the price but you’re also getting bit by bed bugs!

The representatives were all very friendly and informative. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The pool was very nice but a bit cool due to it’s always in shade between the Hotel and the neighboring building. Complimentary breakfast was a variety. From dry cerial, to hot oatmeal or grits, to waffles to eggs and fried potatoes with peppers. Very Nice. Only one suggestion would be to add a couple of towel holder hooks or racks so to be able to reuse.

The bathrooms were not as clean. Other than that it was a great stay!

Staff is nice and kind room was ok. Breakfast is ok.

Great location near MUSC. Great local eateries we enjoyed nearby were "60 Bull Cafe" for lunch and "D'Allesandro's Pizza"for supper. Not fancy, great food and prices.

Amazing how expensive it was versus how poorly maintained the property is. Bathroom had holes in the wall where a towel bar used to be and disgusting brown growth around the tub edge. Lobby had a temporary ceiling over part of it that I almost hit my head on, way below code minimum. Valet couldn't drive a stick shift so couldn't park my car but I still had to pay for the valet in the "resort fee". Breakfast was fine and maybe slightly better than average for a cheap hotel. If they had charged 1/4 as much and eliminated the resort fee it would have been fine but it was way overpriced and under delivered. They call it "Downtown" in the name but it's a 40 minute walk to the market and not safe or recommended at night.

I liked the property quite a bit. there were some minor issues - like the power outlets didnt work in the bathroom. This was fixed during my stay, so it was addressed quickly. also, I wanted to give a shoutout to Kayla, who went above and beyond on more than one occasion.

The price was right for Downtown Charleston. It was only a mile or so walk to/from King Street. However, the facility was old and dated. One of the elevators was not working all of the time. Housekeeping was on a request basis. We requested housekeeping on the 3rd day of our stay, and they didn't come until I complained that it was 5 p.m. and they still hadn't made it to our room.

I was a little worried about the hotel when we arrived as the area seemed a little more industrial, it was a very small entrance drive and no self-parking, however the staff was friendly and the room was clean and beds were comfortable. ,
