Crete was our first stop on our 16 day trip of Greece. Greece Insider, Elena Kyrimi, travel agent, booked Domus Renier in Chania as our first stop. She couldn't have booked a better location. It was 15 minute walk for most of Old Town Chanai. The Breakfast was the best we ever had. There was a Madam Croquet and Monseur Croquet which was like a fluffy french toast with cheese, meat and one had egg on top, Avocada and Beet Root toast, pancakes etc. They even provided box breakfast when we were leaving before they cooked. The breakfast starts at 8:30 but it takes about 30 minutes for them to make your food from scratch. After eating it, you really didn't need lunch. The staff were real helpful suggesting places that the locals ate not touristry places. Prices were very good at those places and food outstanding. They didn't warn us about the proportions of food. Greeks share their food so a Salad may serve 2 or 3, an appetizer the same and the main the same. If there are two or more and you each order, then you will have too too much food. We had our laundry done while there, we tried not to pack too much. It cost 96 euros - we thought prices were reasonable. Each day they provided water bottles . Two problems we encountered, one the AC wasn't turned on and they accomodated us by turning it on or resetting - worked fine. We tried to just open window but that didn't work. The other problem was shower door, when in shower and closing the door, it was difficult to open the door. My wife opened it for me from outside and I did same for her. The staff was going to look into the problem. IMPORTANT ACTION TO DO IN GREECE - DON'T THROW TOLIET PAPER IN TOLIET, PUT IN CONTAINER BESIDE TOLIET. That was hard getting used to but understood, Renier made it a little easier by having a spray attached to toliet which you could use instead of toliet paper or minimizing toliet paper - that was a great idea. The Lorenz Room, 2nd floor, wasn't very large on main floor but had a loft with closet, tv, lounge, safe, drawers which made up for main floor.

We stayed at this wonderful hotel at the end of the tourist season in Chania. The hotel is beautiful! The mix of old and new were blended wonderfully. Ramona was so helpful with restaurant recommendations as well as setting up a car rental. Maria’s breakfast was delightful. This hotel is definitely on our to be revisit list. Terrible terrible hotel. Very very noisy if you have a waterfront room . I could not sleep it was so bad. Hotel staff did call police to get the music turned down at 11 pm but by 1 am I had to go and sleep IN THE FOYER ON A COUCH near where the night staff were working because the noise was so bad. The next day we were offered a smaller cheaper room away from the waterfront and that was very quiet but the hotel refused to alter the room rate from the more expensive room. Staff were so rude and refused to accept that noise was an issue when I suggested it would be helpful to warn that certain rooms can be noisy at night in tourist season. Basically refused to accept noise was an issue...... as if I would choose to sleep in a hotel foyer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the best hotels I have stayed at! The service and amenities are both top noch and their attention to detail is seen throughout the property! The location is ideal as it is in the heart of the Venetian Harbor! I truly cannot wait for our next visit.

We had an amazing stay at Domus Reiner boutique hotel. The hotel was in a beautiful, historic building right on the Venetian harbour. Our room looked right out onto the sea and harbour. The room was a good size with a jetted tub which I appreciated after a long day of exploring Crete. Every morning we had a complimentary breakfast that included breads, smoothies, orange juice and coffee on top of whatever you order off the menu. The hotel was very clean and the service was amazing . I would like to give a shout out to Evisa who served us breakfast each morning and answered any questions we had. She was so sweet and accommodated our every need. Thank you Evisa and everyone at Domus Reiner hotel for helping to make our stay in Crete so comfortable.

Excellent all around. The location is very strategic, the staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable and the hotel is truly a historical landmark situated in the Old Port. Special thanks to Evita, Ramona and Kostas. Strongly recommended

The soul of this 5* hotel located in the heart of the old town of Chania is its staff! We felt like being at home by getting services of this team at such high standards. From the moment we checked in, the front desk agent Ms. Kyriaki (or Sunday as her name translated in English) was so warm and polite with us that she really made us feel comfortable and enthusiastic about our stay. She gave us abundant recommendations of places to visit, dining options, activities some of which we followed and this contributed to a memorable holiday at Chania. The General Manager of the hotel was also very friendly and helpful giving us her tips for exploring some beautiful coasts at Crete. The room was fabulous, excellent design touches in this hotel that make it unique and very clean equipped with all the amenities. The breakfast staff had always a warm smile and their breakfast is delicious enough to boost your day! The hotel's location is privileged as you are in the centre of the old town. Already missing their hospitality spirit and look forward to getting back there soon!

Wonderful staff...very helpful in recommending a private tour, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Room with a view of the lighthouse was beautiful; bed was very comfortable, spacious shower, porch with a view. The location was perfect; very walkable. Friendly staff, delicious breakfast. Entrance is tucked away; look up to see the sign/banner above the outdoor seating of restaurants. Would stay here again!

With much enthusiasm and excitement we booked in May this year for early January the next. Coming the huge distance from New Zealand we have to plan ahead. To our huge disappointment this evening the Hotel canceled our four nights reservations. This is clearly not a place anyone can rely on.
