샤토 데 브리오티에레(Chateau des Briottieres)

This is a "must stay at" if you are in the area and have a car. We have stayed at numerous Chateau in Franc e and this is the one we always return to! Your host Arnaud is wonderful.... as is the food, rooms, and grounds. There is lots to do and see in the area, but remember to save a lot of time just roaming the grounds and relaxing. My husband and I stayed at this Chateau for two nights and had a wonderful time. The chateau itself is gorgeous with multiple beautiful spacious bedrooms and grand communal rooms. The surrounding fields and forests for pleasant walks add to the experience. The owners are a wonderful couple and all the other staff were great too. It was nice to have a few days of "seclusion" away from cities. We enjoyed driving on tiny roads to a town about 20 minutes away for a very good meal as well. This is a phenomenal place to stay for visits to Angers.

I felt like was at a relatives house in a good way. What a great experience and highly recommend this property to anyone

Fantastic. Rooms a bit on small side but otherwise faultless. Staff excellent public rooms similar to living in a real live Chateau which it is, couldn't quite work out the billiard table ( no pockets and just the three balls) Evening meal simply stunning and vastly superior to the Michelin starred meal we had elsewhere the night before. Grounds are beautiful I would go back tomorrow Highly recommend

We recently stayed 5 nights at Briottieres and wish it could have been longer. The staff, the facilities, the grounds, the location, and let's not forget the FOOD, are all 5 star. I can honestly say that we had better food, service, and ambiance than at most of the Michelin rated restaurants that we have been to. Chef Genevieve and her staff go above and beyond in creating an unforgetable dining experienbce - Breakfast and Dinner are not to be missed! M Francois and his son Arnaud have created a real retreat from the "madding crowds". And, as much as we wanted to stay there all day everyday, the location is such at within a hours drive there are multiple fantastic place to visit and explore. But do walk the grounds, the garden and the various other buildings. The Chateau is huge but intimate with lots of amenities, but with their added facilities they can handle large wedding and conference events. To end this all I will say is that when you finally get there, do not spend a night or 2..... a minimum 4-5 nights is what we all need. Go...enjoy...

Lovely place with excellent facilities and accommodation. Parc wonderful and pool beautiful. Food is excellent and service very friendly. Feels like staying in a friends house rather than a hotel. Staff are very welcoming kind and helpful. Highly recommend.

There may be some who may think 5* is high and perhaps 4.5* may be a better reflection but we really loved it. Arnaud (and his chef) are very charming hosts, the rooms and the grounds are large, breakfast plentiful. Because of the age of the Château there are of course some idiosyncrasies but that is part of its charm. Would thoroughly recommend it

We stayed at the château for the second time and it was again the same fantastic experience as in August 2022. Arnaud and his team manage to create an a**osphere of rich heritage and timeless elegance, in combination with a warm and welcoming family home. Also our labrador is welcome and that is really exceptional in hotels of this standard. Dining with candlelight is an experience and breakfast is complete and served with love and attention. If you like a place where the rooms have their own quirkiness, and if you are looking for a relaxed and easygoing a**osphere , this is a must go! Thanks Arnaud & team, we had again a wonderful stay and definitely will be back!

Absolute amazing ; highly recommended as a stopover chateau hotel between Loire Valley and Saint Mont Michel. This is not your typical five star hotel , but one with rich heritage (still run by the 7th generation); the interior has lots of beautiful antiques , painting and decoration that makes you think you're back in the 17th century. Arnaud is the chateau owner and welcomed us very warmly .
