캠핑 드 샬롱-앙-샹파뉴(Camping de Châlons-en-Champagne)

This campsite was sufficient for 1 night, just half way our destination. Sanitair for women was unfortunately not okay, and no warm water for washing dishes

This campsite had the worst facilities i have experienced in last 20 years It has probably never been cleaned or upgraded since then Location bit out way from town pitches were good staff pleasant but needs a good clean upgraded toilet block old shower trays chipped and dirty Although Water was hot and good pressure for washing Won’t go back ever We travel through France often to our flat in the south therefore we know our campsites in a van very well

The new toilets were dirty and the old toilet block was dirty with broken tiles and cracked sinks in all areas

Functional, clean, and the pitches have plenty of space. Staff are helpful, a good base to explore the area, or use as a stop-off. Boulangerie up the road is great, with a small supermarket a few mates away also. Yes the shower facilities are old, but everything works fine.

Superb stop over campsite with Carrefour just around corner. cannot fault location, easy to find and set within the town.

Perfect stay Good staff. They make all for the customers. Perfect pitch.clean toilet. It's a amazing team here.

The warmth and spontaneity of the welcome was a great start! Nothing was too much trouble for the entirely customer-focused staff team who keep the site very tidy indeed. The site is terraced, the top two are shaded by mature and well tended trees, the bottom level is on the south bank of the Loire. The view across the river are magnificent and no photograph will do it justice. The site is 200m from the edge of the town where cafés and restaurants are plentiful and, in the opposite direction, the canal port offers lovely walks and a very pleasant bar and restaurant too. For the rugby enthusiast, the local stadium is less than 1km south. The wine-growing areas of Pouilly Fumé and Sancerre are a comfortable 40 minute drive north and well worth the excursion. We spent a delightful week here and will definitely return.

Having read the previous review we approached with a degree of trepidation but were pleasantly surprised. I’d agree that the facilities are a bit tired and in need of a refurb but they were certainly clean and my showers were warm if not hot. Main gripe would you had to continually press a button to keep water flowing. There was a drinking water tap on our pitch. It’s a big busy site and people only seem to stay for a night or two. The pitches are a good size and shaded by mature trees. I did find then sound of dogs and crying children a bit of an issue but slept ok. The location is in a suburb of the town about 2-3 miles from the centre; we felt safe though clearly not very posh. Big supermarket nearby We enjoyed cycling in the Marne Valley and eating in the town centre but would agree it’s not the most exciting place in France.

We required the disabled facilities, they were adjacent to the disabled toilet/ shower room. The facilities in there were heated and warm with a proper seat for the shower. All good even if not brand new. Good value too and the bar was open late in the season.
