This was an amazing find. Excellent location. A bus stop to the city right outside. The girl that checked us in was lovely. Friendly, helpful and fun. The Bistro at the back of the pub was superb. The food was excellent. We stayed for 3 nights and the room was lovely. Well appointed. The bathroom was superb. The power shower was wonderful after a days sightseeing. There was a communal area which was useful and a nice touch. The complimentary items were an added extra. We will definitely stay again and will be recommending the Ship.

Our stay at The Ship Inn was excellent in every way. The interior décor was clean and fresh, the bedrooms very comfortable with spotless shower rooms, the restaurant very good with a menu providing variety, including vegetarian options and the staff were without exception friendly, helpful and accommodating. We would certainly recommend this establishment.

What a lovely break we had at the ship gatehouse of fleet, thank to all for making our break so memorable, Jonathan and your team went above and beyond to make our holiday fabulous the rooms were spotless, food was delicious, friendly service martin such a lovely friendly waiter you treat people in a nice manner also the friendly bar staff you know which ones, hands in doing everything, lovely young lady serving our breakfast , thankyou to you all we hopefully see you all again lesley and john

Two night stay with my wife. Excellent staff, Excellent room, Powerful shower, amazing food. Ideal place to stay to tour the surrounding area, with Gatehouse of Fleet a nice little place to visit. Had a room overlookinh the beer garden with the river at the bottom of it, great location. Would certainly stay again

Excellent, comfortable and well furnished accommodation in a pleasant small town; Interesting menus and top class food with well kept wines; (the local bottled ales were a bonus for lovers of good, local beers but a shame they were not advertised on an otherwise standard beer list. Friendly and efficient staff added to the warm and welcoming surroundings; good to see that well behaved dogs were allowed. Would love to return.

From the moment I arrived, the staff were so helpful. The storage facility for my bicycle was excellent. The room was great with a large bath - handy after a long day in the saddle. Breakfast was great with lovely staff in particular a young student with whom I had a long chat about her travels. Cannot fault my stay and fully intend returning again.

Firstly, let me be quite clear, I thought The Ship Inn offered very good value for money, with excellent attentive staff, a great breakfast and a very nice vibe in the restaurant in the evening. Our rooms were modern, well appointed, (with a good bed and nice bedding), and initially appeared spotless, although a couple of cobwebs on the ceiling and some sort of 'residue' on the inside of one of the windows spoiled the first impression a little. We enjoyed our meal in No.1 Fleet Street, but were a bit disappointed with the very small (approx. 6 x 3 inch) haddock portion when compared to what we had initially observed being served to other customers. (In fairness, we did not mention this at the time as after being stuck on the M6 for several hours we were just glad to sit down to a meal and relax, but it really was a small portion). The chips seemed to be some sort of soft hybrid version, but in general the meals were very good, in particular the Smoked Salmon and Prawn starter. The Ship Inn offers a great deal at a very competitive price point, and with the attentive and friendly staff, it is a good choice if you are planning to be in the area.

Lovely hotel staff friendly ,breakfast plenty of selection No problem parking . Bedding Only problem is their is lot of stairs up to top room, so when booking check first for Suitability first in case you have mobility problems.Would go back again if their was ground rooms

Booked this hotel last minute after a weekend of walking and biking. The bedroom was spacious, thoughtfully decorated and immaculate. Comfortable beds and lovely bed linens, we slept very well. The in-house restaurant found us a table at late notice on a busy bank holiday evening. The food is great, locally sourced and the service excellent, the staff all friendly and helpful. Fantastic breakfast, again with great service. The hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere with super attention to detail. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.
