몬테 도우라도 리조트(Monte Dourado)

Had a wonderful stay in summer 2023 so much so we are going back for summer 2924 ,accommodation was spotless with everything you would need ,went for a superior room with sea views that did not disappoint. The town and beach is about 5 minutes away down hill .and the sunsets are superb.

We spent a few days here in a studio over new year. The space was amazing. Everything you needed in the kitchen. A large garden and patio. Comfy bed. Friendly receptionist. Lovely town. Some great bars and restaurants nearby. We'd love to come back but the studio is up for sale. Plenty of people were making return visits too which is a great sign. 5 stars!

We stayed in no.82, which had a lovely view across all the village houses and a partial sea view. Sitting on the balcony was lovely, and the seagulls were quite entertaining! The apartment was very homely, and well equipped. It had a personal touch to it, with a stereo, cds, books and games...you name it, it had it all. The bedrooms and walk in showers, we're a delight, and it felt quite luxurious. Maids came in on every other day, to remove waste, and mop floors. No fresh bedding however. The pools are small and dotted around the resort. They don't have music, so nice and peaceful, though the usual bed reserving happens. Particularly from guests staying around the pool. There is a steep walk back up to the resort, but it isn't too far, just challenging in 30° heat perhaps! The only issue I had overall, due to some strong winds, was a window shutter from an empty apartment, that continuously blew and made a long bang, on a few nights, so sleep wasn't the best. Also some noisy neighbours which can't be avoided. I loved this place, it was a lovely break.

The hotel had a beautiful view of the beach, which my family really enjoyed. The Mount Duarado organization team provided excellent support and we especially appreciated the pool facilities. The receptionist was exceptional and gave great recommendations for places to visit. While the hotel was overall very friendly, it could benefit from some indoor facilities to provide entertainment and alleviate any potential boredom.

Booked through ***********. We could not see the apartment in advance as we were told it would be allocated to us on arrival. This was a bit of a concern as previous reviews referred to varying standards of apartment. The apartment we got was very spacious and had everything we needed in it. We had a late arrival and departure and this all went smoothly. It was easy to find and the instructions were clear. Plenty of free parking. As other reviewers mentioned there are minimal basic supplies provided, a roll of toilet paper, tiny soap, 1 dishwasher tablet, one bottle of water which was welcome for the late arrival. We left a lot of the basics behind as I'm sure others do so I think they could leave those for visitors as a gesture and at zero cost to them. eg washing powder, salt etc. There are pools for each 'block' of the complex. The pools are clean and nice, not huge, one with a deep end and a shallow one for smallies. There were good sturdy and comfortable deckchairs provided and were never too busy when we were there. Good decent sized pool towels provided with our apartment.. Our apartment was a little dated and could do with a little facelift like myself but it was clean and comfortable and a good size. The single beds in the second room were deemed a bit uncomfortable by the kids but the double was fine The balcony furniture was not great being the white plastic type and the cushions very basic/plastic-y The location is great. Five mins walk into the town. 10 to the beach. The hills and steps all over the place make this unsuitable for those with mobility issues. The town is nice with the usual bars, restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops. The beach is within walking distance of the apartments but there are nicer beaches close by. There are fabulous views from the hills on either side of the beach and a sunset walk on the boardwalk is a must do. The rooms were cleaned regularly during our stay which was great as we thought this was only to be done once in our 13 night stay. All in all a good location.

Much better than expected! Stayed here October half term 2023 with my husband and 2 year old. We booked this due to the proximity to the centre and beach and also the price was great. I opted for a sea view and didn’t expect such a spectacular panoramic view as we got right across the sea and where the sun set. Made even better by the fact the living room has sliding glass doors onto the terrace area so we had an excellent view wether we were sat inside or out. The whole grounds and apartments are a lot prettier than shown on the pictures we had seen. Apartment size was great, 2 double rooms and 2 decent sized bathrooms with a separate kitchen and a living room/dining room. It was great to have two bathrooms, one that could get wet from showers and returns from the beach and the other that could stay clean and tidy and for getting ready in. The apartment wasn’t modern but nothing was offensive about the decor. The shower wasn’t the best pressure but the water was hot. The walk to the centre is steep but fairly short, I think everywhere you would stay around here would be steep if you are wanting to stay close to the centre. There are a lot of pools all really easily accessible, however at this time of year they were cold. I don’t go in the pools unless it’s height of summer and in the 30s but it was a shame about the temp as my little girl decide it was just too cold for her. I believe one is heated from November onwards but it would be great if it was heated earlier. Numerous restaurants to choose from in the centre, had some great meals and ice creams. Lovely boardwalk across the cliffs, amazing views and hotel open for lunches/coffee at the other end.

We stayed here for 4 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment with a sea view (photo of view is attached to this review). The resort is well situated with easy walking access to the main shopping and restaurant precinct in Carvoeiro. The apartment was quite large, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a nice living area with fireplace ( which we did not use given that we were here in May). The only toiletries provided were toilet paper and soap so bring your own shampoo and conditioner if needed. A washing machine was also in the apartment ( no dryer though). The nearby swimming pool was great for a refreshing swim after walking the nearby trails. I would stay here again.

We stayed at Monte Dourado for 5 nights September 23. We travelled to meet a friend and her family in Portugal for a special birthday - the family know Carvoeiro well but this was my first visit. The complex itself is set on a VERY steep hill - but Carvoeiro in my opinion was very hilly overall so to be expected so we definitely got our steps in. Hills aside the location is perfect - a short downhill walk into main Carvoeiro 5-10 min walk to the beach and lots of lovely resturants. The apartment itself was clean and spacious. Decor wasn’t modern but was traditional and in good condition none the less. The price of as very cheap for what we got. Our apartment was ground floor looking out to the pool and this was definitely the best part. Pool is nice - good size - kept in a good condition. Overall would 100% return and recommend Only downsides to mention - cleaners come in 2x a week- because we stayed for 5 nights we only got one visit for new towels which was a shame. - we had 2 bathrooms in our apartment and one of the toilets stopped flushing - we called reception and they said somebody would check in- 2 days later my friend went to reception and said nobody had come to check - because we where going home soon they basically implied they probably wouldn’t bother fixing it. - the apartments are very self contained so not a lot is provided - 1 dish washer tablet- no cleaning products in kitchen - I’d recommend for a longer stay bring some antibac and some fairy liquid! (But is a supermarket very close) - toilet roll ! We were on rations by the time we went home . They don’t give much and due to having only 1 visit from the cleaning staff early on it wasn’t topped up. Yes you can buy but for us only staying for a few days it seemed pointless buying a pack of 4 + rolls when should be provided.

Just stayed here for 10 days. The apartments themselves are top marks as ours was huge and much better value than anything else the same price. We had a two bedroom apartment with two bathrooms, full equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. We were lucky enough to have a private garden enclosed looking out over Carvoeiro which which was a nice bonus. Air con was available in both bedrooms and the lounge and worked well. Best apartment I have ever had. The only negative would be the lack of entertainment and no bar available plus the steep hill walk. We made up for this by getting a taxi to the intermarche for less than 10 euros each way and stocked up. There was a freezer section for the fridge also. We got our room cleaned every few days. The are plenty of bars and restaurants close by. I would recommend the garden, gum tree and Black Salt restaurants quite pricey but very good quality food. The taxis here are very reasonable and we visited several local beaches for no more than €12 each way, even as far as Praia da Marinha which is a beautiful spot. Praia dos Caneiros was also a lovely beach with an excellent fish restaurant on site. We would come back here for sure and the apartments are magnificant.
