房間衞生打掃得很乾凈，周邊的環境也很不錯．服務態度很好，因為這是民宅住宿．出入方便用密碼進入房間．設施齊全，房間雖然不大也是應有盡有了．特別是洗手間的燈光很美．還有店主貼心服務讓人感覺特別温暖，女兒喜歡吃的巧克力和餅乾等等．．．

Lovely wee gem of a place, so welcoming. Central to shopping centre, pubs and also walking distance to train station. Plenty of eating place near by along with few pubs. This place is good for solo travellers and Owner is so nice.and be back again.

Lovely B and B! Check in was super easy and my friend and I were able to leave our hiking backpacks the next day as well, which was very helpful! Breakfast was amazing. I would absolutely recommend the Cartref Guest House to anyone staying in Carlisle.

Lovely overnight stay in Carlisle , Cartref Guest House was a lucky find with cute personal touches . Mince pie , sweets , hot chocolate , Christmas touches , lovely breakfast, free parking , great location for walk into town & trip to the Old Fire Station , great music venue . Love to go back Melanie & Graham were so nice & friendly

Presentation excellent. Nice welcome pack but room cold, and heaters not working in April. Noisy from both inside and road. Crossing the Road to get back into Carlisle quite time consuming. Breakfast £7.50 extra was okay but made to the overall price quite high, especially as it was shared bathroom. I may stay again but would seek double room with Ensuite.

I really liked this guest house. It's first impression was very nice, with a bistro set situated just outside the front door if you wanted to sit outside in the sun or just people watch. On entering I was met by the owner and she was very welcoming and took me immediately to my room which was the "penthouse" - well the top of the building anyway. It is a small room but very adequate, I have had much worse. The welcome for me there was an amazing array of sweeties and cake for Halloween and shock horror, proper filter coffee just requiring boiled water. Hooray for that alone!!! I didn't realise I hadn't booked breakfast so that's my error and decided at £10 for that meal I would refrain. Being a cheapskate perhaps, but hey ho, got it one pound cheaper at the services which was my next port of call. It was also good there. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, the shower room was to die for except I couldn't find the light switch so had to text the owner for details (texts were answered very promptly). I was told it's automatic and there is no switch. The shower lights up in a variety of colours, no choice :-) but still very pretty (think I might get this for our shower room at home) however, I did have to shut the door as the automatic feature picks up by PIR I presume and that works if it can see you in the next room. Which it obviously did whilst I was sitting on my bed. I thought there was a ghost when the light switched on its own accord!!! Right time, wrong place!! Anyway, I liked this place and if I was ever in the area I would most likely stay here again. Carlisle was nice too however, stay away from the Italian restaurant called "Casa Romana" reviewed by Grace Dent, because I have no idea if she had a cold or eyesight problems whilst she was there but the food was nothing special at all. However, the guest house has a policy of listening to their guests' reviews and if feedback is terrible, three or more and they are struck off their recommended places to visit.

Fabulous Guest House! We had a lovely stay here and would highly recommend staying. The room was beautiful with lots of lovely finishing touches. Breakfast was the lovely and Mel was very welcoming. Would definitely return.

A very well-appointed guest house, about 15 minutes walk from the railway station. It is on a very busy road and crossing during peak hour can be a bit tricky. Very friendly staff and great rooms, with plenty of inclusions. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that.

I stayed at Cartref for the night of September 22nd. The transparency on the website about breakfast times was helpful. I envisaged wanting an early breakfast and did ask another guest house about breakfast times but they did not reply. Ironically, as I then chose a later breakfast time than predicted, their loss was Cartref's gain. There was plenty of choice for breakfast. The system whereby we order our breakfast and select timing the night before is the most efficient for everyone. The sausages were nicer even than the ones I have at home! A welcome initiative too is the dressing gown in the room. A good location too as just a 5 minute walk from the bus station and the shops just beyond.
