파라도르 데 칸가스 데 오니스(Parador de Cangas de Onis)

El parador esta totalmente reformado, el spa es fenomenal, ambiente tranquilo, las habitaciones superiores espectaculares, muy grandes y agradables, volveremos siempre que se pueda.

Beautiful Parador in a restored monastery. Very good located, view over the Picos de Europa and a short drive trough a beautiful scenery to the sea. Great rooms, service and food. A great place for a getaway.

Fabulous place. Our rooms were in the more modern annexe but were still very nice. The historic part was really beautiful. Food was superb, staff very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is in a lovely building that was previously a monastery. Our room was modern and comfortable. Unfortunately, service in the hotel was not as good as it should be. The bar staff were off hand. The restaurant, where we had dinner and breakfast was disorganised. It took 25 minutes from our being seated for dinner for anyone to offer service or even, water. Everyone seemed to be rushing around with no clear leadership. Disappointing.

Motorcycle Tour of the Picos and North West of Spain. 4th Parador of the holiday, all booked as half board, menu virtually the same in all 4 Paradors with limited vegetarian options. Most vegetarian options contained cheese.

My wife and I only stayed one night at Cangas.It is in a beautiful location with wonderful views of the mountains.Very peaceful and quiet.The Parador itself is a fabulous conversion of an old monastery with a more modern wing added on.We had a huge room in the old part.Very traditional but with all modern conveniences. Our only slight gripe was not being able to eat until 9 p.m. owing to a German tour party staying.Having said that,the food and service in the modern restaurant was fine. Not cheap.This was our most expensive night on our tour of France and Spain and it was outshone by several other hotels.

Beautiful monastery and church with a lovely quadrangle for eating, drinking and relaxing. Very pleasant welcome, very helpful when we asked about Covadonga lakes (must do!) and a very pleasant goodbye. Our room was furnished in keeping with the rest of the building and decor. Only downside is that it doesn’t look an easy walk along the road to Cangas so we didn’t try it. Can’t fault the hotel for a stay near the Picos though.

We had a wonderful stay in the Parador. The staff were excellent - they provided us with very good advice on local cycle rides and had a number of maps and trail guides to follow. The restaurant is also excellent - we chose from the set menus and found all of the food to be high quality in a lovely atmosphere. We would stay again without hesitation.

Very well maintained Parador and ideal for exploring the Picos mountains. Bar and Restaurant facilities first class. Friendly welcome at reception and from all staff. Clean and tidy room with all facilities -superb. Did I mention the superb location?
