The hotel is well positioned on main road beach and restaurants few minutes walk as is marina Alsi short walk if you want it and trotters restaurant across the road and small spar. Hotel it self nice clean place with lift we had two bedroom apartment with two bathrooms kitchenette all good clean. All staff we found to be helpful and friendly had a nice fortnight thanks.

Stayed 4 nights paid tourist tax but was asked again for it when we left !! Basic hotel no fridge or kettle but was supplied when asked air con didn’t work very well but a fan was provided room wasn’t cleaned very well only once while we were there took used towels but didn’t leave any clean ones had to go to reception I thought the Scottish bar man was quite rude not very friendly the other staff seemed ok Good location though as near all shops restaurants etc

Came home last week after a 7 day stay at the Africamar hotel, Fantastic location, walk out of hotel onto the top of the *****, shops, restuarants and bars all the way down to the bottom, about 200 yds then you're at the beach. There's a bus stop outside hotel which we used to go to Alcudia old town, which took about 20 minutes, was lovely, worth a visit. There's an Aldi up the the way on the main road and a supermaket down the way. The breakfast and ice cold drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. We ate out as that's our thing but menu looked good and would assume food would be going by how good the breakfast is. We booked last minute and could only get a room only but we asked when we got there if they had anything self catering available which they did have a couple of days later which they gave us at no extra charge, rooms and hotel spotless, nothing was too much trouble, a family run hotel who along with every one of their staff go above and beyond, Thank you for a fabulous week, and hope to be back soon. We arrived about 11pm by coach which was 1 hour 45 min transfer. There’s was no one in reception but the bar man told us someone would be with us shortly. A lady then welcomed us and asked for our passport which she copied and asked if we were aware of the tourist tax which we were. She gave us the bill for the amount which we paid in euros along with 10e for the safety deposit safe key for our room. She gave us the room key & pointed out the lift & where our room was (408). We asked when the bar closed ( 12 midnight). We were room only. The room was basic but clean, at the back of hotel with sea view to the side. Double bed, TV, small wardrobe with hanging space & shelves. Only 4 hangers. 2 sides to the wardrobe were locked? No fridge. Door to balcony only opened halfway & was loose and extremely difficult to open & close. My husband used deod & sun spray to lubricate it the next day & it worked a treat! Bathroom quite modern with walk in shower, hairdryer, soap, shampoo & towels provided. Plenty of toilet roll. Air con included & adequate. We asked for more pillows and a kettle ( cups & sachets also provided) at the bar. Towels changed, bin emptied & bed made twice for our 6 day stay. Room extended for 4 hours on our leaving day with no charge ( on the day the maid made the bed, emptied bin & took our towels though…!). Kettle replaced no problem when it became faulty. We were only in the room to shower & sleep, it was adequate for our needs. Drinks at the bar reasonably priced. We didn’t eat at the hotel as we like to eat out. Seating area inside & around pool area. Plenty of good sunbeds ( only 3 sun brollies) at front of hotel on roadside. All staff friendly & helpful ( we are English - some previous reviews implied if you are not Scottish they are not?). Lovely beach a short walk away with sunbeds (chargeable). Bars, restaurants & shops nearby & walkable. We walked along promenade to marina too. Great holiday for the price we paid.

We were in room 204, overlooking the main road and Trotters bar, the bathroom had a very strong stench on urine and the shower tray was stained yellow, yuk! Room was very basic (no kettle, fridge etc) didn’t bother us too much as we eat and drink out anyway. Biggest issue was the maids would come in every two days to clean room and change towels but would take our dirty towels and not leave fresh ones, which resulted in us constantly having to go down to reception to ask for them and would take ages! So delayed us getting ready to go out. The sliding door to the balcony was really stiff, needed to put some proper elbow grease in to open it. We also had a leak in our room, not sure what this was from we thought it was due to someone above us showering but the guy who came to look at it thought it was an aircon issue. Aircon unit was located in a weird place between the bathroom (nowhere near the bed) so you could hardly feel it. Good points are the staff seemed friendly enough, we ate there one day (small breakfast) which was lovely and reasonable priced. Also had a couple cocktails on evening, again nice and good priced. Location is great, top of the ***** and few mins from the beach, also next to the bus stops. I’d recommend exploring further a field for the day and getting a bus to alcudia or Palma, we went alcudia only took 20 mins. Overall very average and get what you pay for, would probably stay again if I was a tight budget.

This was our first visit to Can Picafort and we booked our ten day trip via Jet2 holidays. Ten days was simply not enough. I opted to stay at The Africamar Hotel based on its incredible reviews and ratings left by other guests. Let me tell you, Africamar exceeded our expectations. I can’t quite explain how special this place is. It’s a place with genuine care, feeling and love. Thank you Juan and Deirdre, you should be so proud of the atmosphere and ambience you have created. In fact, it’s so special no amount of money can buy what you have to offer. A very special thanks to the bar/waiting staff. Nacho who makes the most incredible Mai Tai cocktails and not forgetting the very lovely and adorable Tom who will go out of his way to make you feel at home. On arrival the rooms appear basic, but if you are going on holiday to live in your hotel room then this hotel isn’t really for you. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and we loved the waterfall shower. Rooms cleaned every two days with fresh sheets and towels provided. You can request additional accessories for your room such as a fridge, kettle, iron, towels from reception. If you need anything just ask and as if by magic it will appear. The bar provides a delicious breakfast and lunch menu and a huge selection of drinks all of which are reasonably priced. The pool area is small but there are no towel wars and there is more than enough sun loungers to accommodate guests. As an additional bonus for the kids, a selection of inflatables are available free of charge. Wi-Fi is available in the pool/bar area only. There is an enormous TV in the bar area so you don’t miss those all important sports games (ask Deidre to tell you the TV story, it’s hilarious) and a pool table is available. To our surprise almost every guest we encountered had visited this hotel on more than one occasion. In fact the majority had been returning for the last 18 years (on average). This alone speaks volumes and is testament to service you can expect. The highlight of our visit was the sense of community created in the bar area on an evening, there was a real camaraderie amongst other guests and it’s really lovely that the owners came out to join us. We have made some lifelong friends. If you’ve read this far then you’ve probably realised that we are absolute converts. Can Picafort is a fabulous resort and we cannot wait to return to Africamar. The hotel is centrally located, 10 minutes walk away from the beach and surrounded by lots of beautiful restaurants, shops and supermarkets. We arrived on our first couple holiday to the Africamar and was greeted with a huge smile. We was given our room key and told exactly how to get there with use of stairs or lift. Our room was clean and enough for what we needed for our stay. The reception was large and clean and we spent many evenings relaxing. The staff was very quick to serve you and make you feel very welcome. The pool was clean and there was no problem getting a sunbed if needed. The food served in the hotel was lovely and the breakfast was simply the best! The hotel is based right on to the ***** ,where you have plenty of beautiful shops, restaurants and easy walking distance to the beach. I would like to thank all of the managers and the staff especially Tom and Nacho for making our time at the Africa mar worth every moment. Definitely had more than a holiday feel for us and it actually felt like we were home from home. We met some locals to, who we would now call friends as they were just as welcoming as the staff. Definitely coming back!

Booked a last minute break here was hardly any availability left in resort after reading reviews thought Africamar would be a decent 3 star I was wrong!! I’d read reviews about fantastic staff they must of all been hiding as we didn’t come across any . We were checked in by who I think was owner/manager worst greeting Iv ever had her only words were passports and tourist tax no info on hotel given and we had to find our way to the lift(which is far to small fits about 1 suitcase in) corridors smell of chip fat and have more of an hostel style than hotel ! Now the room I was expecting basic but not this basic mixed with a damp vile smell in bathroom underneath shower screen was green with mould and dirt ! Shower tray was stained a yellowish light brown instead of white very nice!! Only one hook in bathroom no tooth brush holder /cup and lovely sliding door all split and damaged the towels were disgusting glad I took my own . Beds generally clean again glad I’d got my own pillow cases room not dirty but cleaned properly hotel needs a refit . Pool area is small with only 3 parasols this area and reception were clean though . I got the impression if you were a regular customer or returns every year or Scottish you were made welcome a big shout out to rude big built Spanish guy behind the bar he served me twice so unpleasant and rude he didn’t get chance again as we never brought another drink in there . Hotel in good location at the top of the main ***** little bit noisy at night if you stayed in but hotel so bad you wouldn’t! Been coming to can picafort for years and have stayed in a few different hotels I normally go 4 star but iv stayed in 3 star before in resort and had 3 star facilities. I’m just thankful it was a short break!!!

My daughter and I stayed at the Africamar for a week in August, we hadn't been abroad for 17 years! With it only being a 3 star and one of the oldest hotels in the resort, we weren't expecting anything beyond decent. When we arrived in the early hours of the morning the lift was broken and we were on the top floor, but George on reception carried our heavy suitcases right to the top floor. There was no kettle in the room but that was quickly rectified. By morning, the lift had been mended. The room was basic, but very clean and very comfortable. The air conditioning was a Godsend, couldn't have done without it. Every other day the towels were changed, the room was cleaned and beds were made. We were at the front of the hotel adjacent to the main road, but it didn't disturb us at all, we both slept really well. Right at the start of the '*****' everything was within a few minutes walk, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, shops, and the beach was about 6 minutes away. at the other end of the *****. The pool was just big enough, although all the sun loungers seem to be reserved the night before with towels on them overnight. If you want a sun lounger, I suggest waiting until mid afternoon when a few seemed to become available. My daughter loved her 10pm swims! The staff at the Africamar are fabulous and go above and beyond. The chap on the bar (who seemed to work almost 24/7) makes the best strawberry mojitos I've ever had. Can't fault this hotel at all. We will definitely be back.
