Hotel Arena Castillo

Lovely new hotel. Recently opened, beautifully designed new hotel and delivery matches looks in every way. Very attentive and friendly staff. Our room was more of a mini apartment with separate bedroom, living/kitchen area and toilet/shower room - could’ve done with a wee bit more storage space, but a minor issue. We were booked for B&B - lovely to get table service rather than the usual buffet melee - juices, toasts, cereals, pastries, etc all self-service, choice of British cooked, Med cooked or healthy breakfast along with hot drinks served to your table . Pool area is great and there’s also several pods around for private lounging. Additionally, there’s a lovely sun terrace and a further roof lounging area towards the rear of the hotel. Lovely roof top bar, open 5-10pm when we were there - could’ve done do with a bit more publicising as very quiet. Location-wise, couldn’t be more central within the resort with the sea promenade a couple of minutes away as is the main area for bars and restaurants. There is building work going on to finish the Rock Bar and units along side road, but we barely heard any noise.

Our stay at the Arena was an unexpected one as we had originally booked our 7 night stay at another resort ( which was horrendous )… We found the Arena & oh my, what a gem of an hotel, It was an amazing stay, absolutely stunning & all the staff are amazing

We booked this hotel as a quick last minute find, and wasn't disappointed. We booked a superior one bedroom apartment. The room was great, well equipped and clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The young lady doing the entertainment around the pool was brilliant, and encouraged everyone to get involved with games, quizzes and the daily bingo. The hotel itself is in a great location with plenty of bars/restaurants and shops in close proximity. We have said we would definitely return once the hotel has completely finished it's renovations.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay me and my daughter loved it and we are planning to return. Rooms very clean and so comfortable. A well prepared kitchenette staff very friendly they had put us in a room where the beds were set as a double. Within 5 mins of being in the room 3 ladies turned up stripped the bed separated and created 2 singles and re made with fresh linen.. location is very good. The main area of calata and the Beach is only a few mins walk. And caleta Beach is beautiful. And don’t forget to try the amazing paella at my tapas next door to the hotel. Absolutely wonderful apartment/ hotel. Location is central to everything. Excellent facilities at the hotel. Beautiful pool and lots of loungers with umbrellas. Apartments are well equipped and cleaned everyday. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Entertainment around the pool, aqua fit and games are a real plus. Close to supermarket and shops. I highly recommend this hotel. I felt very safe as a solo traveller. It’s close to the airport.

First time to Caleta for a 5 day trip away with the hubby and was slightly dubious after reading some reviews. Hotel Is well presented and in a great location. 5 minute walk to the beach. We booked a superior room which had a separate bedroom and living area. Our room looked out towards the supermarket but we could also see the view of the sea which was lovely. Balcony was ok not very private. Bed was comfy but considering the hotel is supposed to be 4 star we did not have a wardrobe only a rail above the safe and bizarrely a desk attached with a chair to sit at! Bedside cabinets were tiny and not fit for purpose , considering the size of the bedroom it would easily accommodate a dresser and built in wardrobes. We basically could only hang clothes and everything else stayed on the desk which wasn’t the best. Bathroom was spacious and shower which had a soaker was superb . Not sure who is responsible for the kitchen design?!Kitchen area badly laid out. Worktop and cupboards but no power sockets to use the kettle. I always take an extension lead when abroad so had to use this to plug the kettle into which was placed on the table. Very dangerous if you have children. Coffee machine also in the room but would have been ideal to have everything else to make fresh coffee. Enough cutlery , cups and glasses for 2. Pool area is great but I do wonder what will happen when the hotel is full given the size of the pool and area for the sunbeds. Sun roof terrace is an added bonus when the sun disappears in the afternoon at the poolside. Pool bar is great and food is very reasonable and tasty a special mention to Alexandre who looked after us. Hotel staff work so hard and are friendly. Biggest shout out has to go to Alba on staff entertainment what a beautiful person she is. Extremely good at her job and deserves to be given credit. Made us feel very welcome around the pool especially on my birthday where she gave me a Bottle of fizz and sang happy birthday and also when playing bingo and taking part in the quiz. Achim who arrived day before we left to join the team will do well and is such a lovely character too. All in all the rooms would not stop us from booking this hotel again , we are looking to revisit next year.
