콜슨 하우스(Colson House)

From the start of my stay at Colson House I was made to feel welcome by Billy. He showed me everything and helped me with my bag. I stayed in the balcony room which was spotlessly clean, bed linen was lovely and the towels were fluffy and fresh. I had a mini fridge, hangers, tea making facilities and a hairdryer with toiletries. I really did not want to leave. I would recommend this beautiful place and I will definitely be returning! Thank you for a lovely stay.

We visited John and Billy’s place in early August for 2 nights. We were immediately welcomed on arrival and the check in process was so smooth, sorting out the parking permits immediately. John and Billy were also really happy to help with tips about where to visit. Our room was impeccable, so clean and comfortable. The location is amazing, with everything you want from Brighton within easy reach. You’re 5 minutes from the pier. Despite this, even on pride weekend, we didn’t suffer from noise or too much traffic on the road. We would 100% stay again.

This was our first time in Brighton, will definitely back and be looking to stay at Colston house again didn’t want to go home! The room is spotlessly clean and the decor is gorgeous and ties in with the look of the building brilliantly. Everything you need such as shower gel and shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer, shower cap and lots of tea and coffee with biscuits and a fridge to keep some fresh milk or to chill a bottle of wine! There is also wine glasses and an iron/iron board available in the sitting room if needed and John and Billy were very friendly and welcoming making sure we had everything we needed and to contact them if we needed anything. John also sorted us parking permits on arrival which was great. The best part of our stay was the balcony! Great place to chill with a glass of wine and watch the world go by and also had a side sea view. This b&b is also in amongst it all and just a stone throw away from the beach, plenty of shops and restaurants practically on its door step and a 5-10 minute walk to Brighton pier. Can’t wait to visit again!

My partner and I had a fabulous weekend stay. The house was beautifully quirky, clean and cosy. We could come and go as we pleased, given keys to our room and front door. Owner was kind and attentive and had plenty of communication with us during our stay. Room was fabulous, lovely decorations and it had its own unique quirks. Bed was comfortable, had perfect sleep both nights. Amazing location, right by the sea front, 10 minute walk to everywhere - the lanes, pier, and a 30 minute walk to the Marina. Parking is also available for £10 per 24 hours with plenty of availability in nearby streets just a short walk away, where you can find a space. This wasn’t too difficult to find however which was good. The facilities were good, the fan sadly didn’t work but we notified the owner of this and didn’t effect our stay. Hairdryer worked fine. The shower was slightly temperamental, we managed to make it work by trying to toggle the temperature to something less steaming hot, but we temporarily fixed it in the end and it was fine, it didn’t effect us too much as we only stayed for 2 nights. Overall I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a cute and comfortable weekend stay and I would return in the future!

Possibly the cleanest hotel room we’ve ever stayed in! Room 8 on the top floor was pristine and very comfortable. John and Billy very welcoming and then we were left to come and go as we pleased which was just what we wanted. Great location just a few minutes walk from the seafront and about 10-12 minutes walk to the shops/Brighton Pavilion/Pier etc. Lots of lovely little independent cafes nearby for breakfast and bars for cocktails etc.

Really nice place to stay, friendly owners, stunning old building, nicely refurbished rooms, lovely sunny balcony. Great location. Please be aware there is no soundproofing between this room and the room above.

The host was great, it was clean and tidy, nice hot shower etc, however, as it was a “ bnb “ without the breakfast, it was all done to the sleep, my partner and me “ rolled “ to the middle of the bed , and our pillows were a poor quality polyester, not comfortable, and the duvet was very thin, ( and this was middle February). I’m sure if they rectified these issues we would return

I was coming to Brighton to meet family and friends and wanted a place that was close to the sea and also the centre. The hosts' welcome was very warm and friendly, they were flexible with my arrangements and able to accommodate special requests. The rooms were impeccable and comfortable. I highly recommend this guesthouse.

I stayed with a small group of friends and we all loved everything about this place! The rooms are stunning, and the house is only a few minutes walk from all the bars, shops and cafes and sea front. The owners were such lovely guys and really made us feel welcome. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed! Thank you
