Come stay at our beautiful lakefront *the Crowned Shore Cottage* and enjoy all the local amenities! This family friendly cottage has 180 feet of lakefront directly on the lake and walkable to local stores & Pineview Highlands golf course, short drive to all the shopping and includes a dock to give you all the access to the beautiful Houghton Lake. The shoreline is shallow and rises up to a max of 4-5 feet at the end of the dock (about 100ft away!), young children can enjoy the sandy lakefront!The Space:With 180 feet of lakefront access and a large lawn, your family and friends can unwind and relax on this beautiful property. The DNR boat launch is just blocks away and you are welcome to use our dock to bring your boat during your stay! If you're here during the winter months the lake freezes over beautifully for snowmobiling or ice-fishing and there are ski venues and snowshoeing trails close by! The living area has a smart TV, sound bar and large sliding doors with a stunning view of the lake. The entire home has been recently renovated with updated finishings throughout. The kitchen has everything you need to get started including many small appliances like a Crock Pot, Keurig and drip coffee maker, toaster and blender. The bedrooms have full size closets in each one, as well as comfy beds to get some rest after a long day on the water. There is a washer and dryer available for you to use during your stay!Guest Access:The guests have access to the entire home, dock and yard but we have closed off the garage for owner use only. There is a large circular driveway that can accomodate 3-4 cars comfortably.The Neighborhood:The home is centrally located within walking distance to local shops. The majority of the area's shopping is around 1-2 miles away. The Pineview Highlands Golf Course is close-by as well as a movie theater, the boat launch and many local sites to see.Other Things to Note:We love pets, but ask that you leave them at home due to allergy restrictions of many guests. Please stay out of the garage since it is for owner use only. The fireplace is just for decoration, if you need to cozy up use the fire pit outside, but please make sure to clean up after yourselves!Please no smoking in or on the property. From mid-October to mid-May the grill, outdoor table and fire pit chairs are placed in storage to protect them from the winter elements.Out of respect to our neighborhood, no parties are allowed and quiet time begins at 10pm.Our cleaning staff needs time to clean up for our next guests so late checkouts will be charged a fee of $25. This lakefront cabin is located on Higgins Lake in Michigan - Higgins Lake was voted the #1 Lake in Michigan for Clarity and Beauty and the #6 most beautiful lake in the world! This rental has three bedrooms and one full bathroom and can accommodate eight to ten guests. The fully-equipped kitchen features a microwave, a dishwasher, utensils, and dishware. The comfortable living area features cozy sofas, a wood fireplace, cable TV, and a DVD player.Outside, guests will find a large deck with furniture, perfect for unwinding and watching the sun set over the lake and trees. Guests will also find a natural gas BBQ grill – this is a high-quality grill that will suit all your BBQ needs. There is also a large firepit that is shared with the Gray Lady cabin.This rental is furnished with cozy and comfortable furniture to ensure a lovely vacation stay for all to enjoy. There is also a Public access 2 miles from the cabin for launching your watercraft. The Silver Dollar Restaurant/Bar is a short walk from the property if you'd like to "hit the town" for some food and drinks and not worry about driving.While in Roscommon, guests are encouraged to visit the different sights on offer, including the Civilian Conservation Corps Museum, the Cross Country Ski Headquarters, and Campbell's Canoe Livery, where guests can rent kayaks and take them out on the lake or float down the AuSable river for a fun day on the water. Roscommon Zoo is another great attraction and is ideal for a family trip for all to enjoy, especially the kids. Hartwick Pines State Park in Grayling is a must see for all.Houghton Lake is less than 20 minutes from the rental and offers plenty more fishing and swimming opportunities for guests to enjoy. South Higgins Lake State Park is another great park for guests to explore, and it is also located on Higgins Lake. Huron-Manistee National Forest is roughly two hours away and is perfect for those looking for bigger and more challenging hiking trails, while they can retreat the comfort of their lakefront rental in the evenings. We are also about an hour drive from Traverse City, Gaylord, Charlevoix, and Petosky which are great shopping and eating destinations. Grayling is also close by and has a wonderful museum and Art stores you can visit, along with a Brewery and top notch restaurants. A drive to Mackinac Island is a short two hours away and well worth the drive.
