렉아르코 룸 코티지 비트 키첸(Laekjarkot Rooms and Cottages with Kitchen)

We felt home at this property and really love it! Good surprise to find it so roomy when we checked in. It’s our 10th day, the 9th accommodation in our ring road trip. It’s 1 of 2 our most love. Highly recommend!

The place is far from normal, rooms are not clean, beds are not comfortable, kitchen is dirty, everything smells of mold and the owner of the place just puts things in the rooms that she throws away from her own home, like a sleeping The trailers are broken and oldbed. Do yourself a favor and don't come here Some rooms are in warehouses The worst place we slept in Iceland and the owner didn't want to help

The cottages are basically mobile homes, but they are a good budget-friendly option in pricy Iceland. We loved the horses on the property - that was a really nice surprise. There were also lots of purple lupines when we were there and nice views of the surrounding area. Now, the downsides. First, the two bedrooms were pretty small - my daughter ended up sleeping on the couch because it was too crammed in the bedroom. Someone in the area was doing construction around 10:00pm (luckily, it was short lived). My biggest concern was the paperwork said we had to confirm check in with the property ahead of time. I tried calling, I tried emailing - there was no answer &/or no response. I spent a good amount of time (during our vacation in Iceland) on the phone with ******* (who was super helpful and responsive) to try to figure out how we needed to check in. Turns out, you drive up to a main building on the property and there is a list posted of names and cabin numbers along with instructions on how to check in. If we had known this ahead of time, it would have saved a lot of stress and precious vacation time.

While the little cabins were like mobile homes, the rooms were partitioned in a big barn/warehouse. Very thin walls and cheap overall. Four of these rooms (ours included) looked out over a yard filled with metal parts and pallets etc. Someone started using a fork lift truck to move pallets of sod around at about 10pm, which was very noisy...

Clean, spacious room, nice view, no shampoo and body soap but good selections of kitchen amenities

Everything was adequate, kitchen could have been a little more stocked (for example - no bowls for cereal or ice cream), vent needed to be cleaned, location was gorgeous.

We spent one night in the Laekjarkot Rooms. It was a great location, very close to pretty Borgarnes , but being outside the town it offers nice nature views and a quiet stay. The rooms are on the farm with private parking. Laekjarkot has check-in only until 6 PM, but we emailed the owners about our late arrival, and they left the information for us on the reception door. Our room was simple, clean, warm, and it had a good soundproofing. The beds were comfortable. Internet was fine. There was a well equipped tiny kitchenette with the double burner stovetop, sink and refrigerator just next to the bed, so there was no space left for bedside table. We didn’t use the refrigerator because of possible noise. We did the simple cooking, but the size of the kitchenette was too small to be practical. We recommend this place for a location and a good price.

PROS: We stayed in the twin room with kitchenette. The kitchenette was very handy to have in the room with a small stove, fridge and toaster, and was well stocked with cutlery, pots/pans, chopping boards - allowing us to prepare some meals there. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean with a modern vanity. It exceeded my expectations based on the pictures. CONS: Nothing for what we paid for and what we expected. Only issue was the check-in process, we were running a bit late for the 7pm end of check-in and were unsure how to contact the property to inform them, and then organise late check-in, but there were staff present when we arrived at ~7.15pm.

We had a room, which was ok. Very very basic, but good enough for one night. The bed was fine, shower very simple. The curtains did not really help. We were there in June so almost always daylight, there was no possibility to darken the room. Again all very basic. On the other hand it was really cheap, so the expectations were not very high either. You get what you pay for.
