Nice hotel but massively due an renovation, very very old fashioned, especially the bathroom. I'm 6ft and the shower head only came up to my chest, and water went all over the bathroom. Location, grounds, breakfast all great. we had a suite and had amazing views of Lake Bled. Staff also were very nice but I would think its expensive for how unmodern it is.

We stayed in the first floor room with the large balcony and would recommend the extra cost for this room. The balcony had the most amazing view of the lake and island. The breakfast terrace is just below with the same great view. We had one dinner as well. The food, wine and service were all excellent. If going in the summer, be aware that there was not air conditioning in the room. It was warm at night, but cooled off with the windows open by morning.

Stayed over Xmas. No food on Christmas Day as said restaurant shut wouldn’t have stayed here if known. Work being done but that wasn’t a problem. We went down for breakfast at 9.40am got told at reception to hurry up (we only took a coffee from the breakfast bar and fruit as knew it was late but the breakfast was full and we left before everyone. No laundry service no iron as said illegal in room yet our hotel in capital had it. (Maybe different laws for different areas?) Sachets of coffee no machine and no milk given in room. We stayed at city hotel in capital way better. Never go back but good view of monastery but trees covered the castle.

I found this hotel amusing and fascinating. It seems as if it is frozen in time from the socialist era when it was President Tito’s summer residence. Furnishings and linens all spotless. Ditto sparkling clean bathroom. Food was high quality and well prepared. Nice private sauna (book ahead). And not to overlook - the incredible views from the hotel site on the edge of the Lake.

The villa itself is very unique and full of history. The interior is marvelous, and so are the surroundings. You can walk in the park and go to the private beach to enjoy the views even more on the tanning chairs. However, the hotel can´t maintain the high-quality service expected for a villa. I stayed in the suite, and it got so warm during the day that it was impossible to stay in the room. I had to open the door to get some air. The breakfast was quite average. They offered champagne which was great but no pancakes or porridge for the kids. At breakfast, they offered a regular coffee, and you had to pay extra if you wanted a cappuccino. Even 2-star hotels have nowadays proper bean-to-cup coffee machines. But the villa itself is glamorous and straight at the lake.

Vila Bled no longer lives up to their reputation. Like many old hotels, their prime has passed. Our shower leaked, which flooded the bathroom. The front desk could not be bothered with this issue. The front desk could not send up housekeeping,spare towels, nor come take a look himself. I attempted to reach the front desk 12 times over 5 hours to make sure they were aware of the standing water, no answer. Finally went down, and no one was at the front desk. He was nowhere to be found. Finally the night front desk was concerned enough to let us know the handyman would be at the room first thing in the morning. Handyman did come. But only slight improvement to the problem. Unfortunately due to Vila Bled's disregard of safety and lack of follow through, the flooding continued the next day. I slipped in the bathroom. I again let them know this is a safety issue and why. They yet again could not be bothered to do anything about it. Be careful if you stay here. If they try to assign you room 208, ask if the shower was ever fixed... They knew about the issue for weeks before we stayed there. Yet again, did nothing.
