Kinloch House Hotel

We have recently returned from 5 nights at Kinloch House Hotel and as usual it was perfection. We have stayed there on five occasions and it has become our favourite in Scotland. Our room was very comfortable. The staff are always very efficient, helpful and friendly. We have the dinner, bed and breakfast option and the meals are always worthy of a star rating. The hotel is ideally situated in a beautiful country setting and is close by to many attractions. We look forward to a return visit to this first class establishment in a spectacular setting.

What a privilege to stay in such a beautiful house. We needed a couple of nights away to recharge our batteries and Kinloch House lived up to our our expectations. We loved sitting by the open fires enjoying a well deserved drink after a day in the cold, fresh air. Dinner was exceptional both nights with everything cooked to absolute perfection. The breakfast was also very tasty and set us up for the day. What makes the stay special is the level of service. Paul is a master at making you feel at ease and relaxed in a wonderful environment. We will definitely be back.

We were staying in the area to visit family and wanted to take them for a nice lunch. I had checked the website in advance for the menu and prices and it all seemed fine at £ 25.50 for 3 courses including tea/coffee. I checked if there were any supplements for Sunday lunch but could not see anything. It was therefore a shock to get there and find the lunch priced at £45 pp plus £ 7 pp for tea / coffee / petit fours. Obviously I couldn’t say anything as it would have embarrassed our guests. I could understand a small supplement for Sunday lunch but this was too much. The actual lunch was very nice, with good service. The menu used a lot of local ingredients and the roast beef and local berries were excellent. Had it n it been for the price discrepancy I would have given a much better rating.

A lovely hotel ,beautiful views, friendly staff and a great dinner menu which changed daily.Highly recommended Rooms on ground floor, 16 ,had an excellent walk in shower with lovely toiletries. A fan was needed as so warm and one was provided

Beautiful house and environment. Spacious and cosy rooms. Incredibly nice manager and attentive staff. Excellent kitchen. Small paradise. We recommend this historical house - you feel very welcome and well served. It‘s a privilege to stay in a place like this.

We recently enjoyed a delightful stay an our way up to the highlands. Country house hotels when they are run well are like a capsule in time for all the right reasons. We had a beautiful room and exceptionally appointed bathroom. Both the dinner and breakfast were of very high quality and the attention to detail was evident in both meals. Although our stay was short we will look forward very much to returning.

Absolutely excellent experience from beginning to end. The most exceptional service of any hotel I have ever stayed at in the world. Every detail and every request is attended to. Nothing is too much trouble. Paul the manager is an amazing gem: exceptional customer service. Anya also at the front desk works like a fiend to insure that you are delighted. The food is amazing. A new farm to table menu is available every evening. The menu is delicious, classic with an innovative twist. The desserts are amazing and all made on site. We cannot wait to come back again.

Truly relaxing and wonderful experience the restaurant food and wine was excellent and the staff very attentive the location has breath taking views and is very peaceful the public areas are full of character and a spotless

Not convinced this was right for us. So, you can’t fault the views and although Google Maps clearly prioritised saving 100 yards rather than any logical route, the location is good too, just go via Dunkeld or Blairgowrie and ignore any cross country alternative. We had a superior room so loads of space and a great view and I couldn’t fault the bed, furniture or bathroom, the lighting was a bit dull, like almost every hotel these days. The common parts are as in the photos, lots of wood, ancient pottery and pictures of random people from the last few centuries. There were real log fires burning and a stuffed bear as well as the obligatory antlers and polished brass all over the place. The food was good for rural Scotland, hardly cutting edge cuisine, but given the hotel’s traditional style that’s not surprising, it was strange being asked to order dinner well before hand, but I guess that helps planning and reduces waste. The menu choices were OK, but it isn’t a huge menu so some will be disappointed I’m sure. On the other hand, given the choices nearby the restaurant is clearly the most ‘upmarket’ choice for miles. It was, however, ‘quiet’ most of the time. However, here’s where we hit the ‘not so good’ bits. Firstly breakfast is quite late at 8:30, probably to allow the staff an 8am start, but not so good for guests wanting to be out and about early. Similarly dinner is in a relatively small time slot. There’s no room service (but we did get a pot of tea and some cake during the afternoon). In our room there was no tea or coffee making facility - bottled water was provided but if you wake up at 6am it’s a long wait until breakfast. I’d expect more at this price point. Service was excellent, the staff are first class, but the general a**osphere is between relaxed and moribund and for us the old fashioned feel, restricted timing, lack of in room tea / coffee facilities and room service made it an experience we won’t repeat. Your priorities might be very different.
