데인스코트 호텔(The Danescourt)

Not family friendly at all!! Quite time is between 11pm and 8am but from 7pm kids are shouted at by staff for playing in the games room! A room meant to be played in by children!!! Children were not being wild just simply being children and playing, 5th time staying at this hotel and the last! Never problems with old management or staff. Lost a lot of loyal customers this weekend.

This was the first time for us at The Danescourt having come to Blackpool every year for the illuminations. We chose it mainly for the location, which is superb. Right across from South pier and round the corner from Wetherspoons and The Pleasure Beach etc. The hotel is in 3 parts. The Danescourt Hotel, Danescourt Lodge and The Granville so its a bit of a maze with 3 floors (No lift) and one of the dining rooms being down some quite steep steps. The general ambiance is homely, the staff are lovely and very hospitable. I like the idea of having the choice to pay for breakfast as there is Wetherspoons 1 min away should you want a later sitting or a change. The rooms are exceptionally clean and are stocked well with coffee /tea and towels nice and fluffy. The bed was extremely comfortable but like most hotels not enough pillows. Although I'm sure they'd have given me another if I asked. The bar was nice and well attended but only Smooth radio playing on TV. There is a games room with a pool table and air hockey table and a little area for smaller kids with little toy / Lolly machines. Very limited Parking was available at £8 per night but there's a pay and display carpark across the road. The hotel in my opinion lacked 'atmosphere' there only seemed to be one person around either in the bar or in reception and I think the hotels I've been in previously have tried to inject a bit of personalilty in the place, even if its only chatting to guests and getting to know them a bit? Maybe a bit of entertainment in the form of music, quiz, bingo etc? That said, we would return if only for the location. Thanks for having us and hope to see you again. X

Hotel was really nice. Staff friendly. Breakfast was good. Was on the top floor and was extremely shattered when got to my room . Would definitely stay again in 2024. WiFi no problems with. Bed was extremely comfortable

We stayed here for one night. There is parking but you have to book it however this was fully booked (not sure where the parking is though). There are double yellow lines on the road outside the hotel which people were parked on there fine when we arrived however the next morning the traffic warden was putting tickets on the cars that had remained parked there over night. We managed to find parking in a car park about 5 minutes walk away for £15 for the whole day until midnight and had to move car which we managed to find a free parking space on a road just down from here which had no restrictions. There are 3 hotels in one here which are inter connected and think you can get put into either of them. The person who checked us in was friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was ok, small double bed and a bunk bed, small flat screen TV, chest of drawers, wardrobe, kettle and some tea, coffee and milk sachets. The bathroom was ok, not the biggest, no ventilation. The beds were comfy. We had breakfast which we had to go down into the basement dining area and not the one on the main floor. The room was quite warm and no fans were set up to cool the room down. There were about 4 small boxes of cereal on the table 2 of the same ones, and 2 small sachets of granola, some butter and 4 sachets of jam/marmalade. Some toast was brought out which was good. We had the full English which was relatively good. Overall the hotel is ok, location is good (only a couple of minutes walk from the beach), plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Breakfast is ok. Room was ok and bed comfy.

Good points, staff are friendly, helpful and attentive, communal areas great, bad points, our room was terrible, 4 beds in a tiny space, blinds broke, couldn't open or close, too short for windows, one tiny rack for clothes, there was only 2 of us and we struggled, the room was 1 up from a hostel, our friends room was twice the size and borderline luxury, we paid the same price, so pot luck on which room you get. The hotel is tired, they need to spend less money on the bar area that was always empty and more on the rooms. I wouldn't recommend and I wouldn't book again. Car parking £8 a day. I've stayed in better for less with free parking.

Stayed here last night , and I totally recommend. Rooms are spacious, clean and the beds are sooooo comfortable !!! (The duvet and pillows are high quality!) the staff were very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, they assembled new fans when I asked for a fan which was much appreciated in the sweltering heat !!! Perfect location near the fair and just off the prom !!! FYI there is limited parking at the back of this hotel, I would definitely recommend trying to reserve a spot when you book ! There’s plenty of car parks but they were rammed yesterday because it was a Saturday and it was a lovely day, which was a nightmare. The only negative I would say, is that check out is at 10am ! If it was 11am this would just be perfect (especially after a night if drinking !)

I’ve never stayed in Blackpool before so I can’t be sure how this compares against the average… Good parts - the staff are really friendly and helpful, superb location, breakfast is decent, nice pillows. Little fridge in room. Bar area is ok, as is little arcade and games room. The average - room and en-suite cramped, the whole hotel is cramped tbh, but I am big. No curtains (only thin net curtains) on two small high windows in the room so it’s bright from sunrise. Breakfast served for 1 hour between 8-9am. The bad - noisy. Our room had an air hockey table directly outside which was in use until 1am both nights we stayed. Staff told us it’d be shut down at 10pm but clearly it wasn’t which was a shame as kept us awake.

Had to change rooms last min as the room allocated wasn't suitable ....very helpful staff did this quickly hotel in Nice spot ...staff very helpful ..breakfast set out really nice couldn't fault hotel.

The hotel was in the perfect location, the staff were lovely, the beds comfortable and we had everything we needed right there. It was very clean too. Pleasure Beach 5 mins walk We will definitely stay here again
