I'll start by saying I've stayed at this hotel probably 7+ times. It's good to see the same faces each time we visit. On the last occasion, I missed Tyrece and his big personality. So we arrive to check in on my birthday ready to watch the football that evening, the queue went down to the lifts and i think it would be fair to describe it as organised chaos! Everyone in one queue, paid, not paid and trying to collect luggage. I will absolutely stress the staff were doing their best but with no check in machines working and a queue of 30+ people It's not surpise it took 30-40 mins. A hotel of this size and with the turnaround that it does needs several working self serve check in machines and more staff. I'd paid so just needed by check in card. The PI in Bournemouth has a queue for paid and non paid which makes more sense. Anyway to the room, having come from a PI recently renovated i was more noticeable the room is crying out for an upgrade but the reality is I'm there to have a place to sleep upon returning from football that i know and trust and is close to transport links. We were placed in a room facing the Odeon and there was a buzzing alarm sound the entire night. It was the same last time too. The rooms facing the tram seem quieter to me. Check out was easier than checking in and I did raise the length of time it took to check it and was informed they had over 100 rooms checking in 😧 So a little tip avoid 3pm if possible.
