Always a pleasure to check in here. Lovely team full of smiles well done to Christine and the team. Everything you expect you get and the Bar & Block restaurant is super. Again Great service and excellent menu. Breakfasts always hot and tasty here the chef is on it every morning. See you again soon

It's a Premier Inn so like most others in appearance, and it does what it says on the tin. Clean, well presented rooms, recently refurbished. Perfect central location. Decent bar/restaurant attached. With a number of convenient Premier Inns nearby there's a choice of few but this one is always top of the list for me. Why always top of the list? The staff are great, always friendly, helpful and are one of the main reasons for me choosing to stay here over other options nearby. Vicky was a great help on recent visit. Will be back soon! PS For those who complain about outside noise....it's a city centre hotel not one in the rolling hillsides of the countryside.

Room quite confined. TV reception very poor. Toilet seat falling off. Shower screen leaking. Bed ok. Had to collect our own tea/coffee/milk from reception. Food excellent. Friendly staff. Good position.

Stayed here last week, booking their best room at the last minute as we had to attend a funeral in the city. The funeral and memorial service ended, so we slowly made our way to the hotel, arriving between 1410 and 1415, and asked to check-in. The young guy at reception informed us that, as the official check-in time was 1500, we would have to pay £10 for an 'early check in'. We stay in hotels of various budgets all over the world on a frequent basis, and have never had this situation before. Usually, a hotel reception would simply call Housekeeping or check their systems to ascertain which rooms were ready to be occupied, and offer us one of those. If they are nice, a hotel reception may even call Housekeeping and ask if it were possible to prioritise the cleaning of a specific room. However, the staff here showed no decency and were absolutely determined to squeeze every last penny out of us, even though they were made of our circumstances- we were still dressed in funeral attire and had to get changed on a very hot, humid day....so the hotel ended up getting the £10 they were so desperate for. Vile, disgusting behaviour.

On arrival, the twin room we booked was set up as a double. We were then offered an alternative room. On entry, this was still dirty with sheets thrown across the room and dirty cups on the side of the bed. Third room offered was clean and had three beds in, so more than accommodated our requirements. This episode meant we were late for our afternoon event.

Why don't they answer the phone. It's so annoying. Made a booking and booked for 1 person by mistake instead of 2 now can't get through. This is unacceptable!!! I've been trying for so long and the password reset doesn't work. I'm so angry.

Staff are fab but this isn't your usual premier inn restaurant. Bit more pricy than normal and unless you like burgers or expensive steak you're out of luck. No curries or pasta and very poor vegetarian choice. Steak and block is probably fine for someone wanting to go out for a steak but not suitable for a hotel restaurant where people want a variety and if your on a meal deal most mains have a hefty surcharge.

This hotel is everything you need for a city break in Birmingham - close to bars, restaurants, shops and train station. I stayed here with my mum of 80yrs and staff are so friendly. I would really recommend and stay here again.

Great stay at the Premier Inn and better than expected. Clearly one if their better hotels. Good room size, lots of conveniently placed sockets, dressing table with mirro lights, deep drawer and shelving, good heating controls, very comfortable bed. Nice bar and restaurant area and welcoming staff.
