Terrible smelling and dimly lit lobby. Discourteous, dishonest, argumentative employee with unprofessional and unkempt appearance. People loitering on/around property. Discarded purses in stairwells. Roaches in the light fixtures and in bathroom. Bathroom ceiling in disrepair from busted pipe. Stains on sheets. Damp/musty rooms. Broken AC/heat unit covered with screen affixed by sheet metal screws.
I checked in at 8pm. I was in the room by 8:02pm. Walked through the room. Photographed the issues. Called ******* about a refund and cancelation at 8:05pm. I was informed that the motel refused the cancellation/refund. I went to the lobby and asked why my refund was being denied. Employee stated it was because no manager was there. Employee was extremely hesitant to provide manager's full name, contact info or availability, until I told him I would contact the health depar**ent. I was told the manager may have been close by, but he did not have a number and no one knew when he would be there, as he comes and goes whenever he pleases. I was offered a generic email point of contact. I was also told that he was unable to process the refund on the deposit I paid because they would need to inspect the room for damage and no one was available for that until tomorrow. Upon reiterating my intent of contacting the health depar**ent about motel conditions, he picked up a phone, said a few things in Hindi, and just like that, I was immediately refunded by both ******* and the motel.
