카사마이아 아파트먼트(Casamaia Apartments)

Just returned from my week long stay in casamaia apartments and thought I’d write up a review, apologies in advance for the length but I thought if I’d seen an in depth review it would have been helpful before my stay! Firstly I don’t think these apartments are pictured or advertised to their full extent so I thought I’d explain, they are part of a resort type set up with other hotels in the complex meaning there are security guards at the one and only entrance and exit ( as a group of girls this was a big win) making it feel safe. While we were there there wasn’t anyone in the lobby of the apartments we could use the 24 hour reception at Riwo hotel which is a 20 second walk, which also has a little shop for snacks and souvenirs if wanted. The pool is only accessible through the lobby which needs a room key card to enter so it was very quiet and safe which we loved, with a mix of loungers and beds to lie on. Once we changed rooms due to faulty air conditioning the rooms were cool and well equipped for cooking which we regularly did. The design of the main lobby is gorgeous with ivy everywhere a little bar and purple translucent stairs, but there is also a lift available. There is desks with outlets incase of work needs and though there is a building-wide Wi-Fi each room has its own Wi-Fi which is even better. One down side is that tho you can see the beach and sea, due to being about 30 m above it and there not being a direct path down you must go through this ring road round past the other hotels to get out, but there is a shuttle bus which picks up from outside the Riwo world reception which runs continuously so is in my experience normally every 10minutes tho we did once have to wait about 20, so chose to walk down which isn’t a bad walk. It also picks up from the first roundabout in the resort to take you up the hill. Food wise if you are self catering there is a supermarket on the sea front if you turn right out of the resort and past the gecko bar but it is probably a 15/20 minute walk depending on how fast you are which was a bit of a pain but we just did one big shop which lasted us. In terms of location the beach nearby is lovely and we found the end closest to the resort to be the quietest ( again turning right out of the resort or left if you look on the map). There are some bars along the sea front the gecko being the closest but the ones we’d recommend were “elements” and “calipso” which has a fab cocktail menu but again they are probably a good half an hour walk away maybe a little more, so lovely for an evening out and walk back along the beach but not for everyone (also we were trying to not spend too much so didn’t call taxis but I can imagine that would have made it a lot more accessible). In terms of nightlife nearby we found that our favourite thing was taking the bus to Plaza Solymar (the last bus is from the stop if you turn left out of the resort at about 22:40 ish and is route 120) where you can find the Irish bar which al

We felt very cheated by this accommodation. Be aware. We booked this accommodation specifically because of the pictures on ******* and elsewhere of its Spa. The Spa was not only closed but in terrible state looking like it had been shut down ages ago due to hygienic reasons. Additionally the shuttle bus came very infrequently (you are on top of a hill with no amenities) and the only neighbouring resort which was open, the Polynesia Hotel, had overpriced buffet food catered to English guests. No Spanish food or supermarkets nearby.

We arrived fairly late and were greeted at reception by lovely reception staff, good English and very informative. We booked the penthouse with jacuzzi. We called reception one day as temperature wasn’t working. They sent a technician who fixed it straight away. The pool area was lovely and peaceful with just a few people there. Casamaia apartments is separate to the main hotels although you are able to use their facilities hey cannot enter the apartment block making it very safe and secure. It is a little way out of the main towns but a taxi to Fuengirola or Benalmadena is approx 12€. You can take the train but it is about a mile to the nearest train station. The trains are brilliant and run frequently. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again and definitely will.

I have traveled all over the world and enjoyed 5 star rooms. The penthouse in Casamaia apartments is one of my absolute favourites though. Private big heated jacuzzi, big balcony with sun exposure for the entire day (morning, midday, evening, all sunny), maximum privacy with no neighbours looking over the walls. The room itself quite big with a great functioning mini kitchen, dishwasher and washing machine. All our clothes were clean when leaving. The bathroom is big with both a shower and a bathtub. The bed mattress was very firm, but my experience of Spain is that beds are firm everywhere. The staff were super friendly. The cleaning lady always helpful and nice. Our contact Kristina was very kind and helpful also. We wanted to change rooms upon arrival and she fixed it immediately. Also we were able to get a very late check out on the day of departure without any extra charge. The apartment is within a gated complex containing 3 other hotels. As a guest you are free to visit all the hotels and enjoy their pools. The security at the gate feels very good. The location is very nice. 30 minutes from Malaga and Marbella. We rented a car and enjoyed trips down the coast and up the mountain. Parking is free and right outside the apartment. There are good supermarkets around where you can enjoy local vegetables and food. We enjoyed our stay so much that as soon as we got back home, we booked a new stay 3 weeks later. Usually we do not like to return to a place we already visited but the stay was so great and relaxing so we felt we needed to extend it.

Location: Self contained resort with three other large family hotels and the “Exclusive Casamaia” Apartments. A long way (3km) from any meaningful restaurants and general shopping. This is a problem when you have a self- catering apartment…Casamaia originally was an up-market Hydro’s Spa hotel that did previously live up to its name, however it is now a ghost of its previous existence and suffered badly over the COVID years. Unfortunately, now charging premium prices for a very poor apartment that needs upgrading externally. The location in Holiday World does not support Self Catering requiring a hire car or taxis to get to a supermarket. Cleanliness: Internally very good and up to standard. Externally very dusty in infested by ants, which was remedied by mopping the patio and blocking up the hole where the ants were entering. No dish clothes or dish towels or cleaning fluids. Almost without exception on arrival at self-catering apartments and villa’s the basics are provided for your arrival. Casamaia NOTHING…not a grain of salt, splash of milk, no kitchen utensils but three frying pans. No freezer section in the fridge to store ice or frozen items. Service: Non-Existent. You are basically alone in this building and have to call or walk up to the Riwo Hotel where the “remote” reception is. That was also a problem. No instructions given on arrival that you have to report to the other hotel. We stood in the ghost Hotel for ten minutes before someone passed us and told us to report in at the Riwo Hotel reception. Staff were accommodating and helpful. Self-Catering apartment taken to the limit. Value: This is the big one, keep in mind this is a self-catering apartment that costs €200 a night, so expectations are rightly set high and this is my main area of disappointment. The private patio and Hot Tub are ridiculously out of line with the advert and the expectation see photos. Th Cabana's you see in the old photos now have no sides or shaded roofing that basically make them unusable. There is no food available in the building other than a vending machine.

Really nice Apartments with a beautiful view, a pool and a professional spa downstairs. We visited because of a bachata festival but we saw a lot of families having a great time too. Can recommend for groups of fríends and couples.

Large apartment with nice view over the sea/beach. We had a penthouse with a large terrasse and jacuzzi. Unfurtunally we could´nt enjoy the view form the jacuzzi which was working ok. The pool was clean, but the water was freezing. If you want to use the wellness area you have to pay and only be able to use it for 90 min. - It should be included. We had breakfast at the next door hotel included which was very good. The cleaning only ok - There was to many ants in our apartment. Nice and friendly management.

I can't speak highly enough of our experience. We felt like it was an exclusive experience tailored for us with attention to detail and made to feel special. Who can ask for anything more? On arrival was met my Cristillia who gave us chocolates and gave us a remarkable room with amazing sea views, explained all facilities and got somebody to prepare the hot tub. Throughout, Cristillia ensured we were looked after and nothing was too much. A real asset to the hotel and hospitality. Rooms were first class with high level decor and everything an apartment needs. The pool and terrace area was quiet and so relaxed with day beds and seating areas. All wrapped up with a glorious sea view. We were given the ability to use other hotel facilities but loved the feel and atmosphere of Casamaia. Dunia who serviced the apartments and public areas never stopped and went above and beyond to be friendly and helpful. The spa area is quiet and well equipped with beautiful views across the sea. All public areas are immaculate. Special thank you to Cristillia for making our holiday so luxury and we will without a doubt return. Rob and Stephen
