Wonderful hotel! The staff were lovely and attentive. The room was clean, tidy and full of character. The decor around the whole hotel is so apt for the architecture and really leans into history. The courtyard and garden are beautiful to sit and relax in. The breakfast was lovely, few options but everything was delicious. Very impressed with this gorgeous spot.

The understated front door gives little away to what lies inside, but from when that door opens, it's just a wow. Friendly staff greeted and offered to carry the cases, but the bit that blew me away was when he led us through a delightful courtyard to our room(s). We were allocated the kitchen room. Beautifully furnished, polished stone floor, dressing room, and massive shower room. The breakfast was easily one of the best we've had, from the selection of breads, yogourts soaked oats, avocados to the more traditional choices. My only regret is we are not here longer.

Very attractive building and lovely decor but unfortunately understaffed so service was rather poor. No one helps with luggage and we had to move furniture and lay the table ourselves at breakfast as no-one around to help sort a table for the 5 of us. Waited ages just to get a coffee. One morning we realised upon showering that we hadn’t got any towels! Would be a good hotel but more staff needed and they should be trained to provide better service if they claim to be a 5* hotel.

Great stay! We chose the Raphaël hotel for our honeymoon, it was really the perfect choice. The place is very romantic. The courtyards with plants and flowers are beautiful. The building has a lot of character. The staff is exceptional. Also the location is perfect! This is our favorite neighborhood in Lisbon. We will keep a great memory of our honeymoon. Really pleasant and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Would stay again, but would ask for a room that was not on the top floor as the ceiling height was not great for me.

The staff were the best ever, always right there to assist in any way. The property has a secluded feel except for street noise. Excellent breakfast and wine selection.

I had booked with family and friends from 18th to 21st June 2022 Firstly I want to point out that the photos of the site, it is not like that now. -There is Astroturf on the decking now, could maybe be because of poor maintenance. - The superior rooms are at the top of the building and you have to walk all the way up. There is no lift. It is a lot of steps and the last staircase quite steep. - Breakfast was good. But after that very little service available. In the evening we went to the bar but nobody to serve us so ended up buying wine from a shop next door. - Pool suite had seen better days. The aircon did not work - they had put in a mobile unit but it did not do the job. - Brown carpet up the stairs stained and not been hoovered. Not sure about all the positive reviews maybe they are old. It is certainly like faded grandeur now. Marion

We spent 5 nights here. It is a quirky set up that we loved, an old palace which has been made into a boutique hotel. From the moment we arrived until we left the staff could not do enough to make sure that everything was wonderful for us. (Especially Adam). There was always someone at the front desk, many offers to carry our luggage, give restaurant recommendations, make reservations, give directions or call a taxi. We walked everywhere from the hotel and loved the location. Ubers are cheap and plentiful. The hotel was placed under new management about 3 months ago. The only cons were that sometimes we could hear the people in the room above us walking around. And the kitchen ran out of my favorites closer the end of the breakfast service.
