This resort is wonderful. Beautiful beach, fantastic staff everywhere. water is calm and sea**** free. We could walk out at least 200 feet. A la carte options are good although too many are shared with the family resort. Skip the lobster dinner. Will definitely return.

Very quiet, private Unfortunately could not find reservations during our stay (7 days) at El Rodeo or Toscana restaurants. Theater activities very poor. Merenguero lots of fun for families and dancing. Staff EXCELLENT in every way, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

I was the night food at the pizza bar food taste old . Missing ingredients on sandwiches staffs unprofessional a staff walked in the room without knocking on the door at 10 PM. My partner & I was sleeping. I asked to get my room switched due to the type of room I have booked and I was denied.

Had a wonderful stay at this resort. Both the staff and the food were outstanding. My olny negatives of the suite were five issues,1 there was night lamp without cover and the other couldn’t be use because it was setup for European outlets as well as the desk lamp the desk was broken and in the shower the safety bar was coming of the wall. Our room was 114 and i feel we should have received a credit.

Excellent place for couples gateaway, staff is very gentle and willing to help you and many room options depending your plans.

I stayed at the resort for 5 nights and had an amazing time! My boyfriend and I enjoyed it to the fullest. The food options were great, the drinks were good, and the staff was amazing. I would definitely recommend and definitely return!!

I would rate our stay at Catalonia Royal La Romana at 7/10. The property of the adults only hotel is not big, there isn’t a big area to walk around. The 2 property pools are on the smaller side as well. The rooms are nice, modern. Property has a lot of security guards which is also nice. Our most favorite thing was the beach and the water. Super clear water, just as blue as the pictures in the advertisement. Would definitely recommend bringing a snorkeling mask as there is a lot of fish and reefs very close to the beach. The beach is nice, but is a bit small, which beach chairs pretty crowded. As well you have to come to the beach early to be able to get a beach chain under the umbrella. Drinks are served at the beach all day, which is a nice refreshment on a hot day. A huge downside for us was that there is A LOT of smoking guests on the property. There are no designated smoking areas, so people smoke in all public gathering places, and especially the beach, which is quite disturbing to those who don’t smoke and don’t appreciate the smell of it. I think this really needs improvement. A lot of the staff don’t speak English, but most are willing to work it out with understanding you. Room service was very slow, food was delivered cold, and orders aren’t delivered at night, even tho the option is available. Restaurants are average, without a too big of a menu. Our favorite restaurant was the Peruvian Siwichi. Overall, we had a good time, and enjoyed the beach and the water!

The food and drinks were excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful.
