First let me say that my family of 6 have traveled to the Melia resort multiple times and enjoyed the grounds and hospitality every time. We've been to the Caribe, the Level, and most recently the Wellness. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful. The food delicious and plentiful. And the hotel staff are fantastic...very caring and friendly. The beautiful atmosphere, food, and the staff are the reasons that we will return. This was the first vacation where we left very upset because of our experience. During this vacation my family and I encountered constant pressure, while resting on the beach, from multiple Melia staff whose job is to recruit vacationers to listen to the Melia Membership sales pitch. We said no many many times until one of their sales recruiters, Emmanuel Desamour, told us that we would receive vouchers for 3 free rooms to use on our next trip, if they could have 1 hour of our time. I emphasized that we did not want to spend more than an hour. He mentioned that he understood and that he just wanted us to listen and for taking time to listen, we would get 3 free rooms "just for listening." We agreed and went the next day on 12/13/2023. We were taken off the Melia property and were not returned until 4 1/2 hours later. This was 3 1/2 hours longer than they told us. And worst of all we never received the 3 room vouchers. Very dishonest part of the company.
