We booked a traditional cosy room, so this was in the separate 'traditional' wing just a few doors down from the main boutique hotel. I was worried about our stay due to all the negative reviews about the traditional wing. It was quickly clear that I was worried for nothing. This is a lovely hotel. Our room was clean, well presented and the hotel is perfectly located. It's a 18th century Georgian town house so yes, it's a little tired around the edges but this is to be expected. At the end of the day, the room was clean, comfortable and pleasant. I think the other reviews were unduly harsh. Breakfast was great - the menu is limited but they were more than happy to accommodate other requests that were not on the menu. Points for improvements: - car parking. Disappointed that not only are spaces very limited, but there is a fee to use their car park (and a very expensive fee too!). We were better off using the large multi storey at the Podium centre, as this was cheaper and had wider spots. - although the room was clean, there were a few nooks and crannies that were quite dusty, mostly in the bathroom down the side of the shower. - toilet in our room had a weak flush
