B&B 다운햄 홀(B&B Downham Hall)

We had our wedding reception at Downham Hall in September and it was the most perfect day! The venue is so picturesque and having the wedding breakfast in the marquee was the best setting, with views looking out onto the pond and grounds just outside. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us and they accomodated every request we had without question, meaning we could enjoy our day completely without any worries. Debra (the wedding co-ordinator) was amazing, she helped plan the day and made sure we got everything we wanted, even ordering in Guinness for the night! In the lead up to the wedding we visited a few times for dinner and lunch, and Christina and Andrew would always say hello and ask if we were excited for the wedding, which was a nice personal touch and showed how much they cared. The food at Downham Hall is always amazing, our favourite was the Amalfi lemon tart! They accomodated for all the food allergies and intolerances in our wedding party, i can't praise the chef highly enough! Downham Hall is an amazing venue for any event, or just for a nice dinner out or afternoon tea, they can do it all! We can't recommend them enough.

We got married at Downham Hall in July 2023 and would highly recommend as a wedding venue, or for any special occasion. The location, grounds, rooms and surrounding views are absolutely stunning. The service was outstanding, all the staff worked so hard to make sure everything ran smoothly on the day and were always so helpful and informative throughout the planning process answering our many questions and requests. A special thanks should be mentioned to Debra (the wedding coordinator), Dawn, Christina, Zoe and Adrian who were all so lovely and welcoming. The food was a real highlight, we are vegetarians and wanted our wedding catering to be completely meat free which they were more than happy to accommodate, allowing us to create our own completely bespoke menu. All the guests commented how delicious the food was and also massive portion sizes. Even the breakfast the next morning was plentiful and beautifully presented. In fact the whole wedding package was very comprehensive, flexible and personal. If there’s something specific you want or don’t want nothing is too much trouble you just have to ask and Debra will make it happen! Other highlights include getting exclusive use of the whole venue, choice of where you want your ceremony and wedding breakfast, flexibility in catering and drinks package, access to the bridal dressing room, free car parking and overnight stay in the beautiful rooms. I do feel like this place is still a bit of a gem so highly recommended you book a visit and see for yourself how beautiful this place is and if you do decide to have your wedding here you won’t regret it! 💕

Fabulous stay, great setting Excellent food (Parsnip soup then Duck with asparagus) and great wine in the restaurant, could not be more helpful and friendly. Full marks, absolutely no quibbbles at all. Showers excellent and hot, beds comfortable, Definitely worth it, every penny

Was very disappointed that we were seated for 30minutes without being brought coffee to our table. I had to request a cup of coffee, a not very nice luke warm very strong filter coffee. Sandwiches finally appeared after 60minutes. Sandwiches were less than average. However. The scones and cakes were delicious.

Very nice period property not like major brands, comfy bed and large room with modern bathroom. Away from town making it peaceful, need a car to get food etc. although a nice pub only 5 mins away.

We held our reception here in August 2022 and Downham Hall was an excellent venue. The food was great and the venue is all yours and not huge, which is what we wanted. When we signed up they didn't have a marriage licence yet and were relatively new to the game so we were fortunate to get a great deal on the price. I know they've been making improvements ever since. Their planner left right before the wedding but the girl who substituted did a fantastic job on the day. There were a couple of very minor issues as you'd expect anywhere but they were sorted with no fuss and certainly nothing to stop me recommending the venue. The rooms were lovely and the breakfast the next morning exceeded all expectations too.

Prompt personal service, excellent room facilities, spacious and individual. Super clean and great food. Close to Basildon - where I was visiting for work. Best accommodation I have found close to Basildon. Would definitely stay again!

This was our first visit to this immaculate hotel, where pride in their hotel was clearly in evidence.Service was superb, nothing was too much trouble and it a lovely escape for us whilst visiting relations in nearby Billericay. We will be returning there in the next few weeks. The potential to have a super wedding reception is in evidence with great facilities to the rear of hotel.

Service was brilliant from start to finish. Food in the restaurant was delicious and although I couldn’t attend breakfast due to an early start, Debra offered a smoothie and fresh fruit to go. This was wonderful. Rooms at Downham are beautifully decorated with comfortable beds for a great nights sleep.
