라 카사 그랜 B&B(La Casa Gran B&B)

We stayed 3 nights here, in Room A, a deluxe double room. Our room was smallish, but not unexpectedly so. There was a small en suite bathroom with shower. Bed was comfy, pillows a little too firm for my taste (but I found this to be true of 5 out of 6 hotels I stayed at in Spain/Portugal). There was a very small desk with chair in the room and a single easy chair. The biggest problem I had with my stay was that the room faced Av Diagonal, a busy noisy street. I had to download a white-noise app (good wifi provided) to drown out the traffic. I think this is a known problem, as free foam ear plugs were available at the bedside. Unfortunately ear plugs are not very comfortable or effective. Maybe a small white noise machine could be provided? The upside of its location obviously is that it is central. Easy walkability and plenty of buses, metros etc. If only it did not face the avenue... Lots of dining options in the area. We met Victor when we checked in, chatted for a short time and he was not seen after that. We had more contact with Ana who served us breakfast - very sweet. Breakfast was large, esp the charcuterie board. They gave us a small carry out bag of yogurt, apple and pastry the one day we had to go out early. I have no issues with the service or the amenities, but I would look for a quieter location if/when I return.

While the description clearly stated no front desk, the reality of that was a B & B where everything from breakfast to check in had to be pre-arranged resulting in less than a ‘go with the flow’ experience. We have stayed in others B & Bs and woke to a breakfast buffet of local foods and fresh baked goods. The pics of breakfast showed a lovely table with fresh cut fruit and a wide selection of pasteries. In reality the fresh fruit was two bananas or two apples in a bowl. Breakfast was the same each day, a choice of 3 meals (yogurt with nuts, a meat & cheese plate, or toast and jam) one of which had to be pre-ordered the day before. We stayed in the double and made it work, but it is better suited to one person as the shower was a box in the bedroom, there was 1 chair and 1 low table for a suitcase. No dresser nor closet to unpack into. So my bad as they were clear about the front desk, hence the generous rating of 3, but the ratings and pics raised unrealistic expectations.

Central yet quiet. Clean and cosy. We particularly enjoyed the terrace. Nice walks on the nearby streets that can bring you to the ancient center in less than an hour walk. Many metro stations close enough.

We stayed here for a 4 night break, the location is perfect, with most places walkable, it's also on a bus route (including the hop-on, hop-off buses). Victor & Anna were the perfect hosts in their lovely B&B, super clean, lovely breakfasts and super helpful. The B&B itself has so much character in a beautiful building. We will definitely be back!

Second time around for us and still a lovely place to stay. Everything perfect: location, cleanliness and above all lovely service. They are so helpful and friendly. If looking for a unique and home-like accommodation Barcelona, do not hesitate to choose La Casa Gran!

My husband and I, along with another couple, spent 3 nights here. Victor and Ana went out of their way to make sure all was perfect from start to finish. From accommodating early drop off of our lugguge to recommending restaurants, they didn't miss a beat. The rooms are spotless, airy and well appointed. There is a large patio off the back of the b and b, where breakfast (delicious) is served. Also a great area to sit and relax with a bottle of wine. The location is perfect. Barcelona is a beautiful, vibrant city, and La Casa Gran is the place to stay. Highly recommend.

Location perfect. Close to many attractions, hop on-hop off bus, restaurants. Breakfast was so lovely out on the patio. Great for quiet time with a glass of wine and a book as well. Wine available on site. Best parts: that incredible outdoor patio and the staff! Victor, Anna & staff are very accommodating. We felt at home.

My mom and I had a wonderful stay here. Anna and Victor are lovely hosts, the B&B is clean and has a homely feeling. The location is perfect and the terrace is a big plus! Highly recommended and would stay here again on my next visit to Barcelona!

I stayed here for one night only. I was visiting Barcelona to watch football at the Nou Camp Stadium. I walked from Barcelona Sants Station having travelled from Madrid. The B&B is situated on Av.Diagonal a huge main road through Barcelona. It can be found some 50 yards away from the corner of Carrer De Muntaner where it joins Av.Diagonal. The B&B is spacious and the room I had was a decent size with every amenity needed. There was drinking water available in a bottle but no tea and coffee. The breakfast had 2 options and I chose the Yoghurt option. It was superb and filling. What makes this place is the Owners, Victor and Anna. I spoke to Victor alot, his customer service to people like me staying at the B&B was a 11 out of 10 experience, it was that good. I enjoyed my brief visit and will recommend to my friends to stay here should they need accomodation in Barcelona. The reason for my stay was to watch football. It took me about 40 minutes each way to walk to and from the Nou Camp Stadium. It was easy and straightforward. The following morning I walked back to Barcelona Sants Station to travel onto the City of Girona.
