히든 파라다이스 코티지(Hidden Paradise Cottages)

Breakfast is quite simple. Tons of flies around in the restaurant area. You need a scooter.

La chambre familiale est grande et SDB extérieure spacieuse également. Un peu excentré, son emplacement sur la plage est son plus grand atout, avec une faune marine exceptionnelle accessible dès les premiers mètres. Le restaurant face à la mer est joli mais le PDJ n a rien d exceptionnel et pour dîner il faut mieux sortir car plein de meilleurs endroits juste à côté. Le personnel est très sympa et souriant.

We were a family staying across four rooms. The air conditioning in one room kept cutting out and was eventually fixed after several attempts. Some of the beds were actually two beds pushed together but were still comfortable. The hot water in my shower suddenly stopped, but this was fixed as soon as I let staff know. The pool was great and kept very clean. Breakfast was an excellent variety of hot food (both Western and Indonesian) as well as fruit, yoghurt and toast. There was tea, coffee and fruit juice available and you can order a cappuccino for an extra cost. The toilet area in my room had a consistent smell of urine that lingered even after cleaning. There is sun loungers around the pool and on the beach which would really benefit from the addition of mattresses. You can rent snorkeling gear very close by on the beach.

Nous y avons séjourné que 2 nuits. Points positifs : - Emplacement les pieds dans l'eau - Gentillesse du personnel (pleins de petites attentions notamment avec ma fille) - La propreté de la chambre et du resort de manière générale - Le restaurant est bon et pas excessif (happy hour !) - Très bon rapport qualité/prix - Très belle piscine avec petit bassin pour les enfants Points négatifs : - Pas d'endroit dédié aux massages, elles viennent vous masser dans la chambre sur un matelas à même le sol (mais c'est vraiment pour trouver un point négatif) Un hôtel où on s'y sent bien, on y est resté que 2 nuits mais on y serait bien resté une semaine entière (surtout si vous aimez le snorkeling)

Très bel hôtel formé de bungalows. Le lit est gigantesque et la literie impeccable (on a très bien dormi).Le restaurant avec vue sur sur mer est excellent. On sent qu'il y a un effort pour limiter notre impact. Le wifi fonctionne assez bien. Au pied d'un spot de snorkeling (celui au pied du resto Vienna est un peu mieux et vous pouvez y aller à pied depuis la plage). Seul petit bémol, la douche fraîche (peu ou pas d'eau chaude) et le 'pollen' des arbres qui fait comme une pellicule sur la piscine (mais on apprécie l'ombre que les arbres apportent).

We stayed 6 nights. The bungalow is traditional, clean and spacious, set in a lush well maintained garden. The pool area is amongst the garden with shady trees. The staff at the restaurant which, overlooks the beach, are extremely friendly and helpful. Included is a daily complimentary buffet breakfast, and choice of eggs or pancake between 7am-10am. We ate lunch there most days as well, after we returned from diving. Unfortunately there is no ceiling fan and the room was extremely hot due to no airflow, so we had to keep the aircon on. Everywhere else on our trip we haven’t needed aircon. The shower water pressure is extremely low and it took a long time to wash conditioner out of my hair. I like having a quick shower, so was a little frustrating, but not the end of the world. However, we didn’t have any massages because we knew we wouldn’t be able to wash the massage oil off. We would of had a few otherwise. The checkin lady was lovely. I asked about taxis and she said she could call one for us if needed, which are Rp200,000 return. A couple of days later we went to reception and was greeted by a man, he told us it was Rp250,000 had to be paid in cash to him and can’t be room charged. If just sounded a little deceitful to me. I said I would prefer to pay the driver myself, but he insisted I had to give the cash to him. At the end of the trip the driver was waiting for the payment from us and was surprised we had given cash to the hotel instead. Some restaurants like Sails will send a driver to pick you up and drop you home again, which was convenient. There is a small supermarket almost next door. We found the location very convenient for diving each day and walking to other restaurants. Griya restaurant is only a short walk and is lovely for sunset drinks followed by dinner and Balinese dancing. The restaurant at Bukit Segara is close and stunning. You can snorkel on the reef, stunning coral on the left and lots of turtles on the right. The black sand gets a little hot to walk on in the middle of the day. Overall we loved our stay at Hidden Paradise and found all the gardening, housekeeping, F&B, front office staff (except one) extremely friendly and helpful.

L’ambiente non è pulito. Al nostro arrivo la stanza era un covo di zanzare. Al ristorante non hanno l’acqua in bottiglia ma solo dal loro rubinetto, il che potrebbe essere molto apprezzato, ma non è proprio raccomandabile berla. La colazione è scarsa.

Bungalow grand avec salle de bain extérieur également grande. Par contre deco vieillotte. Le complexe a du potentiel mais se dégrade et devient vieillot. Piscine avec dale cassée. Concernant le personnel ce n’est pas ici que vous connaîtrez la sympathie incomparable des Balinais. Petit déjeuner pas mauvais mais pas super. Jolie plage devant pour le snorkling. Amed est un petit village paisible peut être même trop à notre goût.

The good - Location. Right next to the beach. Easy access for swimming and good snorkelling. Free sunbeds available for guests. Dinner food and cocktails were decent. The not so good - Dated cottages with doors that don't close properly. Lizards, ants and other bugs inside the room and bathroom. Farm animals held next to the cottages. We were awoken at 5am each morning by roosters crowing and other animal noises. Overall poor noise isolation inside the acommodation. Loud noise from surrounding palm trees hitting the roof due to wind. Overall we did not have a good night sleep a single night and felt tired throughout the stay. Breakfast below average with half of the food cold. Few nice staff members but mostly apathetic. We had nicer service in other hotels in Bali. Adds 15% service charge to any food or drinks you buy. Service charge is common in Bali but this is the highest we've seen for frankly mediocre service. Expected more for €110 per night. Wish we had payed a bit extra for a 5 star acommodation instead.
