The Location is amazing, very near to Nizami Street and other attractions. Staffs are very friendly, specially Ms. Nai who was in the receptionist. Junior Suite with Balcony was super cool. Breakfast was very average and need to improve. Amazing time staying in this hotel. Highly recommended.

The hotel's location is the best that I have felt in Baku. Its proximity to Nizami street makes it even easier. The hotel is decent and nice. It's clean and the service is good. The staff always have a smile on their face. The rooms are big and heritage type. The only thing I think they need improvement is breakfast. They are not even serving basic made to order egg omelette etc. The breakfast menu lacks items. So I think they should put some improvement in that. They have a good number of fruits, dry fruits etc in place. But some extra hot items to the menu will add up more advantage to it.

Location wise you cannot fault this, it’s right in the old city, and walking distance to many sights and points of interest. The hotel courtyard is impressive looking but for me that’s about where it ended. I was given a room which wasn’t easy to find at first! Beginning with a 4 you’d think 4th floor but it was in fact 3rd floor , elevator, along a balcony with interior facing rooms, down some steps, up a flight of stairs and along a corridor. Not handy with luggage. The room itself was basic. Way too warm. The air conditioning wasn’t working (or just was turned off completely as it was February) but the radiator was on full and the room was uncomfortably warm. I was told to keep the balcony door open at night to help cool it down. As a female traveler on my own this didn’t feel very safe. For a couple of nights this hotel is perfectly fine, and the location is what really saves it.

The hotel is situated right inside icheri sheher and majority of places of interest such as Maidan Tower, shirvenshah palace, miniature book store etc are located within few metre distance. The location of this hotel is absolutely fantastic as it gives a feeling of old school charm. Also it is very near to double gates and also walking distance from Ischer Sheher Metro station (red line). Also it is walkable distance from carpet museum, nizami street, seafront etc and is surrounded by great food and shopping joints. Coming to the hotel itself, the rooms are big and spacious . Hotel water is available and there is a bath tub too. Also the hotel provides a plate of fruits. The breakfast comprises veg and non veg options and is quite wholesome. The staff os also very helpful. Overall i highly recommend staying here. It is about 5 km from Heydar Aliyev Centre

What an excellent hotel! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, wonderful location right inside the city gates to the Old City, only steps from wonderful restaurants and shopping. There are amazing sights just blocks from the hotel as well like the Maiden Tower. Stay here if you can!

It really sad that such a good hotel got such an 'average' rating from me. I guess, as they say "location, location, location"... In this case it worked both ways. There's nothing anywhere that says that your vehicle has to park more than 150 mt. from the hotel doors, outside the walls of the old city. Nothing we tried to tell the gate keepers convinced them about my handicap, to allow the vehicle to enter just to drop me off. So, though the hoteldid send porterage for our bags, I did have to walk in myself. A disappointing start - first impressions are lasting! The hotel itself was beautiful, full of character and surprising little jewels at every turn in its interiors. The room was well refurbished, though of an older design. The level of hygiene, the courtesy of the staff, the modernisation in the bathrooms etc. were faultless. Where the location really works for them is that they are in the midst of the old city walls, and wandering around on foot, or by electric buggy (in my case) started right outside the door. The central courtyard is one of the quaintest we've ever seen. And it has been thoroughly maintained. On the ground floor level this contains what must have been the structures in te old days of the old city...., where there are really old antiquated displays of water systems and artefacts. In fact it seems to be on the 'tourist trail' even for non-residents.(totally non-intrusive). IF YOU HAVE NO MOBILITY ISSUES - DO IGNORE MY EARLIER NEGATIVE COMMENTS.

The property is beautiful in a good location. Restaurant is good. Staff have very poor English and service awareness. We had to call multiple times for basic services as toilet paper, pillows.

The Shah Palace is an amazing hotel - by far the best on our trip. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly!
