It's a beautiful place if you want to relax, enjoy the beach and hotel. There's not a lot of tourists activities or shopping. You need a car if you want to explore.. the hotel itself is beautiful and the staff are helpful and welcoming and they catered for vegans. But the nearby restaurants had limited vegan options and were expensive. We were bitten by mosquitos ...make sure you carry insect repellent. The weather was lovely during the day and slightly chilly in the evenings, you would need a light card.

Just back from a week at this lovely hotel. We really could not fault it in any way. The rooms were clean and spacious. We had a kind of suite with a TV area, a bedroom area and a dressing room as well as a bathroom with a walk in shower. We had beach towels provided which were changed daily and the room was cleaned to a very high standard. We had a side sea view from our terrace that was equipped with both chairs and a table and sun loungers. What really made our visit though was the service and welcome. We were greeted and made to feel so welcome on our arrival by Alexander and Carlotta and Leonardo made our days in the restaurant where the breakfast buffet was vast plentiful and varied and all staff there were so kind and nothing was too much trouble. We went to the restaurant for dinner on our first night as it was my birthday and the food was absolutely delightful but not cheap! My husband was left a dessert birthday cake in our room on his birthday which was a lovely touch and we could not fault it at all. As for Baya, there is not a great deal to do. We swam every day on the public beach and just took our towels and sat on the bits where there are no loungers. We took the boat trip to La Maddalena Archipelago which was lovely but we’re glad that unlike a couple we met we hadn’t booked for any longer. We are in our 50s but quite active and said we would come back to this lovely hotel but either as part of a multi centre trip or when we are much older and happy just to swim and watch the world go by. I would definitely recommend though this lovely hotel and it’s wonderful staff. Definitely worth a visit
