Nice location. Staff very kind. Carpet could have been cleaner. A/C-Heater was either cold or hot. No in-between. However, we did stay in subzero temperatures so that may have aided in the unit not working properly.

Great hotel, clean, very helpful and friendly staff. I had to extend my stay due to the snow storm and they were very helpful.

First of all let me say the staff were very nice and helpful, but the problem was there weren’t enough of them. The front desk was not occupied after like 7pm and yet the doors are wide open. Security issue to say the least. No one at the hotel to assist in dealing with individuals partying at 2am. Called front desk and transferred to main customer service for chain with no ability to assist. I know the breakfast at hotels can be somewhat suspect, but we previously haven’t had any issues with this hotel. Unfortunately that was not the case. Ran out of eggs and sausage both mornings we were there. Both eggs and sausages were overcooked. Waffles are always a hit! It appears there was a drastic shortage of staff which contributed to the challenging stay. With our prior track record there I would go back, but there are so many other options in Ames now that it’s obvious they have to get this situation remedied quickly.

Pros: Comfy beds, very clean room, grear breakfast selection, friendly cleaning staff, bright white towels, and quiet Cons: poor water pressure

Flight was delayed. I properly called and notified the front desk that I will be checking in after 3 AM and was assured that I could check in anytime and was assured they had left a note in their system about my late arrival. I arrived after several hours of travel and flight delays and landed at the hotel at 3:30 AM. Front desk employee said she had made my booking as a ‘No Show’ and would be able to assign a room as per my previous booking and asked me to book a new reservation as a ‘walk-in’ at a much higher rate (and I would lose the previous booking too). This was happening at 4 AM. But, I stood my ground. She made few phone calls and after a nearly 30 min wait time, gave me a room. I was so tired to sleep. No mood to even speak anything at the desk and finally crashed at 5 AM. In the morning, went down for coffee, my card did not work when returned. Had to go down and get different keys. Terrible experience overall.

Very nice, clean, quiet, and friendly staff. Spacious rooms for the price. My only issue was that there was some shoddy craftsmanship regarding the tiling work and the shower surround in the bathroom and neither hooks nor racks to hang used towels. Overall, a nice property.

Great place to stay for a cyclone game. Christ, the public transport, is a short walk away to the stadium. Great comp breakfast

Very nice hotel, it was quite, rooms clean, little expensive but game days always are at all hotels in Ames

Staff was excellent. The building was good. Offered many choices for breakfast. The one chair in the room was an office chair that was not comfortable and was VERY tippy!
