We really wanted to like this place more than we did. It didn't start well. The entrance is up an uninviting escalator. The reception staff are friendly, but at times it appears understaffed. The suites are a nice size and clean (as expected), but there are details lacking - such as no soap tray in the shower - and very cheap loo roll. There are no tissues in the room. The sea-view balcony was unusable due to the strong winds that got up each lunchtime/afternoon - not the venues fault of course, but we opted for the sea-view and wished we'd have stuck with the Marina view. We had the half-board option, and we regretted it. The Breakfast was nice and up-to-standard, but the evening meal experience was pretty dire. The only bar in the hotel is straight off reception, and has the a**osphere of a doctors waiting room. For half board, this where we ate - with a few tables set out with place mats, cutlery etc. The food portions were tiny, and there were mostly only 2 choices per course. We didn't see any Veggie option, for example. We've attached a photo of our chocolate dessert - basically, a bowl of squirty cream! We actually used to joke about it. The last night I ordered Rice Pudding (which was off). They then took ages to serve the dessert as they couldn't find the alternative which was...wait for it...just strawberry ice-cream. The barman was not friendly, and so with the lack of a**osphere we tended to go next-door to the Alicante Melia, where the bar area was much nicer and the barman much more chatty and friendly. We are really sorry to say this, but we really don't think that this place is worth the money.
