Overall we enjoyed our stay at the BQ. The Hotel throughout and the pool area are kept immaculately clean, and the domestic staff work so incredibly hard to keep it looking pristine. Dining staff also work so hard. The rooms are modern as is the bathroom with a lovely big shower enclosure and always plenty of hot water. Lots of comfy sun beds around the pool and we were very lucky in the 5 nights we were there (over Easter) to enjoy some glorious weather. Hotel is very close to a gorgeous beach which we enjoyed our daily walks along the waters edge. The harbour is a lovely 10-15 min stroll away. We were disappointed that the air con wasnt on during our stay, as Jet2 hotel amenities states it has it and doesnt say its seasonal only, one of the reasons we booked the BQ. We did bring the issue up with reception staff and jet 2 holiday helper and understood its too early to put on. Thankfully it wasnt unbearably hot in our room. Obviously this Hotel is a family establishment so of an evening there was kiddies entertainment until 8.30ish and there was only one venue for entertainment which meant having to sit thru the kiddies time before the adult entertainment started but this is to be expected when its a family hotel. The adult entertainment in all honesty was pretty dire plus it was so loud in the room as the ceilings were low and the speakers were just too much for such a smallish space so you really couldnt hear anything that was being said, and it was impossible to hold any conversation with your table guests. Also as to the quality of the entertainers, it wasnt up to much and in that respect had we been on a full holiday ie 7/10/14 nights we would have found somewhere else each evening to enjoy ourselves. Dont waste your money on a Pina Colada at Hotel as that was undrinkable. It was nothing more than a glorified pineapple juice (€9 each) and i managed half then just couldnt do anymore! Dont know about any other cocktails as that one was enough for me to decide cocktails were not their strong point. The food in the bar - open 12 noon - 4pm was exceptionally good - not over priced and we enjoyed a couple of mid afternoon snacks in there. As to the food in the dining room - breakfast was good, plenty of choices as you normally get with a buffet, the choice of cereals, cold spread and hot foods was very good but sadly the dinner for us (as a group of 6 who all felt same) it let it down badly. On the 5 nights we were there only 2 were quite good, the other 3 were really poor. To be fair there was plenty of choices but there was nothing to accompany any of the meat or fish dishes - no fresh veg at all other than potatoes a couple of evenings, always had chips but thats ok for the kiddies but as adults we do expect another choice. The pizza that was on offer every evening did always look very freshly cooked and had good topping on, but thats not my choice of food for an evening meal. The paella and/or rice dish on offer was always so dried look
