톤 호텔 할링달(Thon Hotel Hallingdal)

Fine, but old. I only had one night here but the hotel lacks the standard of a thon hotel - the room was interesting a least large - half the lamps didn't work - even in the bathroom it was only one downlight beaming. However it's quiet and the food is ok. Cheap dinner - one course meny - and breakfast is as expected. However I can recommend the hotel for overnight stay. If you're ok with this standard. It's busy during weekends - due to location in the mountains.

You know it’s Thon when most things are broken and the breakfast looks like a students kitchen.. after a party. My room was never made up after 3 days, the breakfast was so poor. Coffe machine broken, out of eggs, juice and bread and what was there…. Well, look at the pictures.

Well, the reception area was great and staff was nice. But it was an old hotel who really needs renovation. The walls was thin, so we could hear the baby crying in the neighbor room and we could hear all the traffics outside. Our room only had half a curtain, so it was a lot lighter in the room than we wanted. Beds was great. Breakfast was averaged, and it was in the reception area so if felt like sitting at the front desk. Free parking was great. It was an okay hotel for overnight stay, but not more than that.

The hotel needs maintenance and renovation. Moody employees who do not make eye contact with the guests. Large family room was cheaper than ordinary double room!? Noise from the road outside. Standard far from hotels.

Great breakfast, not so great customer service ! Disturbed late at night to move my already parked car so someone else could then park their in the very same place ! No restuarant / food available in the evening and no water in room.

We stopped off at Ål for a one night stay to break the rail journey from Oslo to Flam. As there aren’t many choices of accommodation in town we decided to stay at the Hotel Thon, a short 10 minute walk from the station. Check in was easy and the room was spacious, a double bed with a bunk bed for the kids. A tv, fridge, phone, coffee machine and fan were available in the room. The best aspect of the room (room 327) was the view out of the front of the hotel. Amazing! Breakfast was extensive, with a lot of choice available. Top tips: A large convenience store (Spar) is a 10 minute walk away. Top Camp Hallingdale is a 25 minute walk down the river (nice restaurant, play park and mini child’s golf course are available in the off season). The adventure bike rental by the station seems to close in the off season. Yes we would stay here again.

Extremely boring room. Parking is a mess as most places are taken by the hotel staff. Dinner is the worst I have eaten, don't try to get something else. They only serve one dish. The only positive thing during our stay was an excellent breakfast.
