The hotel positions itself as 5 stars, but even 2 stars would be too much. Let's begin: When you enter the room, there's cheap linoleum or vinyl flooring, the kind you find in the cheapest motels. It's extremely unpleasant to walk on, but – it's easy to clean! If you're traveling with small children and your mom or dad wants to take a shower, they better be ready for the kids to watch them bathe. You step out onto the balcony, only to be greeted by a great view of a dumpster, a piece of unkempt land, and some road – all of which distracts you from the roaring ocean you can't even swim in. After a late check-in, you want to have dinner in the restaurant, but they tell you – sorry – no seats available. They don't try to solve your problem – they just tell you to go away. They can't offer room service, don't bother setting up extra tables or serving you at the bar. You're explicitly warned that if you encounter a cockroach in your room (we found one outside), that's just how it is! There were ants in our room. Breakfast is so poor that most tourists won't understand why they paid $300+ per night. The cherry on top was the non-working air conditioner in the room! And this in a new five-star hotel! And you know what – they don't offer to change your room, they just give you a useless fan that doesn't solve the problem. It's the middle of July, 27 degrees Celsius (80°F) outside at night, with high humidity – and they tell you – sorry, but we suggest you endure it in your $300 room with this $20 fan because we don't care about solving customers' problems! Administration, don’t even think about writing an apology, they are not accepted.
