We didnt stay at the Hotel but went for food on a Saturday evening. Good menu choice as well as blackboard specials. We both had a main course, chicken fillets and gammon steak, very tasty, good chips and veg/salad. Will certainly return. To be fussy the only negative comment I would make is that the staff(apart from 1 waiter) could perhaps be a little more attentive.

Excellent meal and great value for money! Will definately be back again soon. The staff were all very friendly, attentive and helpful. Couldn't fault the meal or service at all. Portion sizes were great and food was delicious. Wishing the new owners all the best

Myself and my son checked in for 3 nights to play some golf, the view from our room was as advertised fantastic, the host Kevin and staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the local area attractions. We had a fantastic stay and I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel if you are visiting the area for golf or other recreational activities

New owners, so not a patch on the previous owners with service, menu and quality of food. Perhaps still finding their feet but a bit of nice customer service goes a long way and was extremely lacking. The menu was standard bar food and nothing really stood out. One table of customers walked out without ordering, so must have thought the same! They also mucked up our drinks order twice. The bill was out on the table whilst still eating our desserts and it felt like they wanted us to leave, without even asking if we wanted coffees. Won't be rushing back!

Nice place to stay for golfers playing Cruden Bay/St. Olaf. Very convenient and you can see part of the course from the hotel.

Had a great stay at the Hotel. The owner was very accommodating, there was 12 guys that had been playing golf at Cruden Bay, we had food at the Golf club then went back to the Hotel for a few late night drinks which the owner made sure we got great service, would recommend this to a large party. The only downside was the breakfast not quite a 10 but in general the Hotel was good 👍SP

We visited on a Sunday evening and were surprised by how busy it was! Now, I can see why. All of the staff were wonderful, and checked back on us several times. The food was great, although the menu small, there was an array of specials to choose from. The inside was a step back in time, which we both enjoyed as it felt very welcoming and was bright/clean. No complaints and shall hopefully be back.

Our first visit to St Olaf was an absolute treat. The food was simply amazing - rustic, hearty, and bursting with flavors. The standout dish for us was undoubtedly the steak pie. It was, without a doubt, the best we've had in years. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, enveloped in a rich, savory gravy. The crust was flaky and golden, adding a delightful crunch to each bite. The overall dining experience was enhanced by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. We can't wait to return and explore more of what St Olaf has to offer. Highly recommended!

Great stay again in this lovely hotel. Excellent food and comfortable room
