소렐 호텔 아라우얼호프(Sorell Hotel Aarauerhof)

Went to stayed in This Hotel and did booked a junior Suite to stay. Although we did arrived on Friday 02.Feb 2023at the Hotel at 13.40 pm but couldn't get to the room. As the room was not ready. Did contacted Hotel on the phone and have to waited another hour. So we couldn't allow to check-in and have to wait somewhere for an hour. Then when we got the room and the room was ok but what is worst in the room is that you paid for fr.162 a night but you don't get even a bottle of water and not a single glass in the room. Sorry !! for a Hotel junior Suite is just not match in our expectations. When one see picture that's Hotel provided. Is far worst more than we had experienced. Later on the same day had to checked out because Hotel doesn't fit for standard Hotel requirements. But that's our experienced.

The Covid pandemic has been hard on the service industry and Hotel Aarauerhof has also suffered through it. A change of management and a more bare bones service since our last visit to this Hotel almost three years ago. We took a Junior Suite which was quite spacious and the bathroom also large. The room was however *****ped of the conveniences that had once existed. No mini-refrigerator or coffee machine. The basement steam room and sauna which had previously existed were now closed. A bit worryingly there were no staff for large parts of the day and night – and staff seemed to appear only early morning and disappear by lunchtime. The two times we needed some assistance – one on checking in one afternoon, and once late at night - there were no staff at the hotel – which would have been a problem had it been an emergency. There is however a 24 hour number which can be called which is moderately useful. The staff were efficient and friendly. The breakfast was basic and limited but otherwise good. The room looked a bit worn (upholstery faded etc) but the linen was spotless. As the heating was still on (in late April) we needed to crack the window open a bit which made the room rather noisy. The bathroom door didn’t lock properly and the need for maintenance was apparent. The hotel was showing some age and needs some work. Overall the hotel is well priced and functional, but it wasn’t what it used to be some years ago which is a pity because I like it for its excellent location (right next to the Railway station and easy access to the town center).

No desk staff at all. Check in is at a kiosk and if your card doesn’t work, you have to phone a help desk. No air conditioning. It was raining and sweltering hot in the room but couldn’t open the window. Fan provided did not work well, air flow cycled up and down. All is was a terrible experience. Find another hotel.

La situation de l'hôtel est très bonne, en face de la gare. Le système de check-in automatique est assez simple lorsqu'on a une réservation. Les chambres sont propres et assez grande, la salle de bain est ok. Les murs sont très fins et l'hôtel est mal isolé ce qui le rend un peu inconfortable. Le parking est vraiment insecurisant la nuit. Je le conseille tout-a-fait pour 1 ou 2 nuits en transit à Aarau mais pas pour y passer une semaine en famille.

Einfaches Self-service-Hotel im Stadtzentrum gleich beim Bahnhof. Zimmer etwas älter, aber sehr gut unterhalten und sehr sauber. Bett hochwertig und sehr bequem. Kein TV (wer braucht den heute noch?), dafür Lademöglichkeiten. Frühstück ausgezeichnet mit vielen Optionen, ein Highlight. Portable Klimaanlage im Zimmer. Wurde positiv überrascht, für einen Kuezaufenthalt zu empfehlen.

Das Hotel verfügt über keinerlei besetzte. Rezeption, erreichbar ist jemand nur über eine Telefonnummer, die an den Eincheckautomaten angegeben ist. Telefon auf dem Zimmer zum Anrufen Service: Fehlanzeige. Die im EG des Hotels hat nichts mit dem Hotelbetrieb zu tun, wenig hilfreich, Servicewüste Schweiz. im Zimmer Fehlanzeige, nur über Fenster auf oder zu, damit aufgrund der Lage am Bahnhof laut oder nicht laut. Zimmerzustand: Könnte mal einen Anstrich vertragen. Zimmerjöhe sehr niedrig, wirkt bedrückend. Frühstück: Minimalkonfiguration, 1 Sorte Brötchen 1 Sorte Croissant, 2 Sorten Käse, 1 Sorte S*****en, frische gekochte Eier : Fehlanzeige, größere Auswahl nur bei den abgepackte Marmeladenportionen. Zimmerschlüsselkonfiguration über den Buchungsautaten funktioniert nicht richtig, da bei der Anforderung weiterer Zimmerschlüssel diese nicht ausgegeben werden, bei der Auswahl verloren die noch vorhandenen gelöscht. Neuprogrammierung nur über Anruf bei der Hotline, mit deutschem Handytarif Zusatzkosten und dann funktionieren sie später nicht mehr. Kurz gefasst, war eine Erfahrung, die wir nicht wiederholen werden. Bewertung mit einem grünen Kreis nur weil sonst eine Abgabe nicht möglich ist.

Hotel ist ok, Zimmer sind gross und geräumig. Sehr nahe Bahnhof, Strassenlärm hört man ist aber nicht störend. Frühstück ist sehr spärlich aber ok, leider nur Kuhmilch, nichts für Laktoseintolerante. Bedienung im Früstücksraum sehr freundlich.

Für eine geführte Wanderung traf ich mich hier mit meinen Kunden. Die Lobby ist nicht sehr gross aber für ein kurzes Treffen genügend gross. Bald soll das Hotel umgebaut werden. Trotzdem ist es wert dort einen Kaffee zu trinken. Die zentrale Lage und die jurze Distanz zum Bahnhof sind grosse Vorteile.

Self-check-in ist ja ok - aber nicht, wenn gar kein Mensch mehr an der Reception ist. Im Aarauerhof ist der Gast vollkommen allein auf sich gestellt. Auch, wenn im Zimmer nebenan die Party kracht. Der telefonische Dienst nützt einem gar nix. Ausserdem ist das, was hier als Frühstücksbuffet bezeichnet wird, ziemlich lausig. Alles in allem kein gutes Zeugnis für die Schweizer Hotellerie!
