리리뷰어Last year I had the most wonderful stay at Menina Colina, and was excited to return. Unfortunately I now wish I had reserved elsewhere, as it has been nothing but a disappointment.
Prices are so much higher than a year ago, but I thought I got what was a good deal on the garden room. Turns out it is greatly overpriced for what is offered, as it has none of the exquisite design or attention to detail that the interior rooms have. It also seems to be neglected in terms of maintenance. The coffee machine was leaking, and after reporting it, it was made out to be my fault as I was using it incorrectly. I had to physically show a member of staff the leaked water for them to agree to replace it. I was really annoyed that they felt that they needed to demonstrate to me how it works rather than just replacing it immediately.
The next disappointment was that the room was initially not serviced at all, and no explanation was given. When you are paying $165 for a mediocre room (not even including breakfast), one would at the very least expect the bins to be emptied.
The bathroom also had a terrible smell that permeated the room, and mosquitoes were a problem too.
Management did offer me lunch or attendance of their fado show, but none of these arrangements fitted into my busy programme. I thought a small financial compensation would have made more sense. That did not happen, and nothing further was mentioned or discussed on check-out.
The final issue was the online check-out which they require. When I tried to complete it, my bill was for my entire stay, although 3 of the 4 nights had already been paid months in advance. So my conclusion is unfortunately that Menina Colina’s standards have dropped significantly, and that it is overpriced for the lack of attention to detail that is evident in several areas.

리리뷰어Pros - Location - easy access to Porto downtown area (3 metro stations to Sao Bento)
- I choose travelling by metro as walking uphill and downhill in Porto is really tiring!
- Room size as well as toilet - spacious enough even for two people, facilities - I like the kettle for boiling hot water.
- Water from the shower very powerful and comfortable.
- 2 bakery cafes nearby for taking breakfast (with reasonable price), one Chinese restaurant nearby provides hot food.
Cons - Did not expect there was nobody at hotel front desk upon my arrival. With the help of a kind lady, I could communicate with the hotel staff
via whatsapps and was able to check in without problem. ( I would like to say thanks to that kind lady)
- No elevator, staying at lower floors is preferrable.
- the room floorings had a cracking sound while walking, may be the building was a little bit old.

약간 오르막이지만 다시 포르투입니다. 오르막과 내리막 없이는 거의 돌아다닐 수 없습니다!
소유자 Maria와 관리자 Martha는 세심하고 배려하며 숙박에 대한 훌륭한 경험을 보장합니다.
우리가 도착했을 때 환영 포르투갈 타르트가 제공되어 맛있었고 Martha는 언제든지 포트 와인(또한 매우 맛있습니다)을 부을 수 있다고 말했습니다.

RRobotravelsWhile location is pretty central, it’s right next to bar with its customers blocking the hotel entrance n leaving broken glasses after drinks. It can be a nuisance crossing drunkards going in and out of hotel entrance at night.
The room I stayed in had banging or hammering noise from afternoon to 2am, making it impossible to rest. The hotel said since I can’t pinpoint which room it comes from, they can’t do anything. It’s a structure borne noise, not someone partying or shouting in their room. They didn’t try to find out or help solve the problem, making the stay unpleasant.

TTrip LOVERss이 호텔은 고속도로와 매우 가깝기 때문에 잠을 잘 때 약간 시끄 럽습니다. 방의 크기가 너무 작고 샤워기의 조명이 손상되고 꺼져있어 어둠 속에서 샤워를해야합니다. 침대가 너무 낮고 편안하지 않으며 바닥이 맨발로 걸을 수 있을 만큼 깨끗하지 않다고 생각합니다.
호텔은 찾기 어렵고 호텔에 가려면 15 분 이상 걸어야합니다. 이 호텔에서 즐거운 숙박이 아니었고 다음에 공항 호텔을 예약하지 않을 것입니다.

리리뷰어Booked at the last minute given changes in plans. Great for a getaway, definitely need a vehicle as the trek up the property is challenging (as is wheeling baggage!).
The staff is very welcoming, including the resident cat. Breakfast comes in a basket outside your door, cat and peacock come for free 😂
