We often see humanity and nature as separate—us here, nature out there. But what if we are not separate at all? What if the very rhythms of nature—the seasons, the growth, the stillness, the renewal—are reflected within us?
Through the practice of the "Just Like Me" meditation, we will bridge the perceived gap between ourselves and other humans, recognizing our shared experiences, hopes, and struggles. Then, we'll extend this awareness beyond human connection, applying it to the natural world. We'll shift from seeing nature as something outside of us to recognizing that we are part of it and it is a part of us!
Our journey will culminate in the creation of a Nature Manifesto, a collective statement of connection that captures our deepened awareness and commitment to honoring our interwoven existence with the natural world.

Additional Event Details
Parking/Directions: 
Parking is available at the Octagon Shelter, located at 801 Truxell Road, Cuyahoga Falls 44264. We will meet at the trailhead kiosk.
What to wear/bring: 
Please wear closed-toed, sturdy shoes that you do not mind getting dirty if conditions are muddy.
Weather:
 This is a rain or shine event, so please dress accordingly so that you are comfortable. In the case of severe weather (lightning, hail, storms, etc.) we will cancel or postpone. Participants will be notified of any event changes via email.

About Shannon Speaks:
Since the start of her career in healthcare in 1995, Shannon Speaks has partnered with people and their families in a variety of settings, working with older adults in nursing homes as they adjust to major life transitions and in hospice care.
Shannon also taught and supported students at Kent State University in human development & family studies for 15 years. And for five+ years, she supported people living with cancer and their families in an outpatient cancer treatment setting.
These valuable human connections have become part of Shannon, and she brings the lessons learned into her current roles as a Social Worker, Certified Mindfulness Teacher and ICF Certified Life Coach.
Today, Shannon supports helping professionals in a variety of settings through mindfulness teachings and practices. She serves as a mental health therapist at a non-profit for individuals experiencing grief & loss. And in her private coaching practice at Nourish C&C, LLC she partners with caregivers of all kinds who are ready to rediscover peace, balance and fulfillment.
