Immerse yourself in the melodies and narratives that have been passed down through generations, connecting us to our roots and shared experiences. This in-person event promises to be a soul-stirring experience that will leave you feeling inspired and uplifted. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to celebrate the beauty and resilience of the Afro-Caribbean community. This concert is a celebration of Black Canadian composers and storytellers, weaving together music and personal narratives from across the Afro-Caribbean diaspora. Featuring works by Canadian composers Nathaniel Dett, Katheryn Patricia Cobbler, and myself, alongside historical music by Black composers, Joseph Bologne, Ignatius Sancho, William Grant Still, Florence Price, and Leslie Adams, the evening explores Black musical traditions across history.
